This document proposes a smart dustbin system using sensors and IoT to improve waste management efficiency. The system uses infrared and ultrasonic sensors to detect waste levels and trigger notifications when bins are full. An ultrasonic sensor also automatically opens the bin lid when a person approaches to prevent odors. An Arduino microcontroller processes sensor data and connects to WiFi to send notifications via the ESP8266 module. The system aims to address issues with current waste collection approaches that leave bins overflowing and cause unhygienic environments. Notifying workers when bins need emptying could improve collection efficiency and environmental cleanliness.
