This document provides a literature review of research on single point incremental forming (SPIF) process parameters and thickness reduction. It discusses the history and development of incremental sheet forming (ISF) from the 1960s to present. Several studies are summarized that investigated how process parameters like step size, tool diameter, wall angle, and forming stages affect thickness distribution and reduction when using SPIF to form shapes from sheet metal. Finite element modeling was used in some studies to simulate SPIF processes and validate experimental results. Overall the literature review examines how SPIF process parameters influence thickness reduction and aims to provide background for further research.
