Ir a + infinitivo
 To say that someone is going to do something in
Spanish we use this formula:
 1. Conjugate the verb ir (to go)
 2. Add the word a (to)
 3. Add the infinitivo of the action they’re going to do
 An infinitivo is the most basic version of a verb
and ends in either AR, ER, or IR
 In English, an infinitivo translates as “to (action)”
 Ejemplo: the infinitive bailar means to dance
Here’s how we conjugate the verb ir
Yo voy Nosotros/Nosotras vamos
Tú vas X
Él/Ella/Ud. va Ellos/Ellas/Uds. van
This means that . . .
 Yo voy a = I am going to
 Tú vas a = You are going to
 Ella va a = She is going to
 Nosotros vamos a = We are going to
 Ellos van a = They are going to
Now use what you have learned to do the examples at the bottom of your worksheet!
