IQAIST: Improving Quality and
Accessibility in In-Service
Trainings for Teachers
During the sessions they acquired knowledge and practical infor-
mation about “Non-Formal Methods”, improve their practical skills
related to how, when, with who, to use non-formal methods and
made contacts with individuals and organisations with similar ex-
perience and exchange best practices. They had the opportunity to
discuss teaching methods, visit other institutions and interact with
other professionals working with non-formal.
Along the stay the teachers had the opportunity to share their cul-
ture, their traditions and their national food. We started with the
International dinner; there everybody brought something specific
and traditional from their country. Each day the meals were ar-
ranged in different restaurants, in order for the participants taste
all kinds of specific Romanian dished.
During the training the teachers visited important places from Iași
in different non-formal ways:
- Iași City Center – through a game (City Hunt);
- Copou Park, “Al. I. Cuza” University – formal and non-formal
approach;
- „Vasile Alecsandri” National Theatre – formal and non-formal
approach.
The group of teachers had practical training sessions where they
could implement new instruments and methods for a modern
pedagogical approach.
We chose the topic of “Non-Formal” because all teachers are
working with those type of methods and a re-freshen on those
methods, an exchange of instruments and methods is all the
time a good way to grew your daily practice for a better involve-
ment of students into the learning process, for decreasing the
rate, the percentage of dropping up the school or the educa-
tional institutions.
