Internet Protocol addresses
An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is
the unique identification number given to
every device that is connected to the
internet.
It represents the unique location on which
you are connected to the internet, allowing
devices all over the world to communicate
with each other.
Without these unique location addresses,
data could not be transmitted between
devices accurately.
4. IP address is of two types.
IPv4 is a 32-bit and can be written in denary/ hexadecimal
e.g 109.108.158.1 or 77.76.9e.01.
IPv6 is a 128-bit and can be broken into 16-bit chunks and
represented in Hexaecimal e.g.
a8fb:7a88:fff0:3d21:2085:66fb:f0fa
IPv4 uses
decimal point (.)
IPv6 uses colon
(:)
