This new mobile world moves fast. No more waiting for people to get back from lunch to return or a call, or needing your office desktop to finish your work.
Just about everyone you know has more than one mobile device – and a lot of them carry around multiple devices at one time. ? As never before, organizations must manage the transitions on and off different networks seamlessly, while protecting sensitive information.
Learn how you can tailor this technology-agnostic, cloud-based platform to continually integrate, monitor, manage, and optimize the unique and disparate elements in your organization. Discover how to define and manage assets, sensors, and workflows using your own business rules, use third-party tags with sensors you already have in place, export maps from Cisco Prime Infrastructure and connect CMX to OI and navigate the dashboard, plus set up reports and alerts.

IoT is everywhere, from smart meters on houses to parking sensors in the ground – all devices are connected to the Internet. Internet engineers are helping traditional industries solve new industrial world challenges by connecting billions of new devices. An exciting part of the IoT journey is the integration between both worlds: Information Technology (IT) and Operation Technology (OT). For that a systems approach is required to scale the existing Internet infrastructure to accommodate IoT use cases, while making IT technology easy to adopt for OT operators.
In this session you will learn:
IoT infrastructure challenges and the need for open standards and partner ecosystem
Key elements to build large-scale IoT systems as IPv6, access control, plug and play, distributed intelligence and contextual awareness
Introduction to fog computing and advantages of extending cloud computing and services
Looking ahead to the future

Digital Supply Chains & the Internet of ThingsKevin Ross
Kevin Ross, Senior Director of Supply Chain Transformation and New Business Model Enablement at Cisco will share their journey to a Digitized supply chain. For Cisco, this shift involves making big bets on five emerging technologies to digitize their supply chain: IoT or the Internet of Things, Big Data and Analytics, Cloud Based Applications, Mobility and Collaboration.
Are you considering launching an IoT project/trial but are afraid of getting bogged down in complexities? Or, worse… Have you started an IoT pilot and failed to gain any real business value from your investment of time and money? In this webinar, our IoT expert Siva Chavali, Sr. Architect-Kellton Tech and Nigel Harley, IoT CoE Specialist-Software AG discussed how you can optimize your existing manufacturing practices and create new revenue streams by integrating IoT successfully.
Within the next five years, advances in display technology will make science fiction reality with screens that are unobtrusive, frameless, ambient and ultra - high definition. There no longer needs to be a 'black - hole' in the corner of the room, but screens will instead seamlessly blend into the home environment. Organic LED technology needs no edges at all, and it will be possible to create tiled surfaces of almost any shape using low -cost standard parts.
The concept of 'immersion', readily expressed in a simple control, really does give viewers the opportunity to enjoy programs according to their wishes at that moment, with content whose size, position, and level of interactivity adaptively matches the current needs of each audience. Key to the principle is a simple architecture which is readily extensible throughout the home and an engine which reacts to user input and metadata within a multiplicity of content items and streams. Our work has received enthusiastic press and industry attention as they share our excitement about TV’s potential future.

Hi I’m John Roberto and thanks for listening to this SalesByte
In the next 5 minutes we’ll overview how the Cisco’s IoT System makes IoT simple. It’s a comprehensive set of Cisco IoT products, technologies and service offerings for our partners and customers. The IoT System will allow us to better help your customers deploy, accelerate and innovate IoT solutions to realize the business benefits that are possible in today’s IoT world.
I really like this chart because it attempts to quantify what’s happening with IoT
If you look at the straight boring line across the bottom of this graph - it actually represents the population of the world. Sometime between 2009 and 2010, there was a point of inflexion, where the number of connected devices began outnumbering the planet’s human population.
This is significant because at Cisco we feel that the last round of growth in the internet… was just the beginning
As you can see by the blue dots and the line going upward and to the right this represents all the new types of IoT devices being connected. This includes all manner of Sensors, meters, machinest, cameras, vehicles, robots. We’re projecting 50 Billion smart objects will be connected by 2020. This is Truly …”connecting the unconnected”
We think it’s clear that all these new devises are driving a massive next-Phase of growth for the network and our businesses.
It’s extremely exciting to watch this happening because it’s happening quickly
In fact we went back to compare the rate of buildout and found that
IoT transition is growing 5 times faster than the build out of the worlds’ electrical grids or even the transition to mobile phones.
But as we “connect the unconnected world”… and converge connectivity across IT and operational equipment environements, new demands are being placed on the technology infrastructure.
IoT solutions may require the many elements shown here – from ruggedized connectivity to security to automation, analytics, and open APIs for applications -- must work together as a system to deliver business value … This can be COMPLEX
So it’s no surprise that when we surveyed business and technology decision makers, 56% said they prefer a fully integrated solution that makes IoT simpler to use.
We’ve heard consistently from our partners that they sometimes find it difficult to sell IoT because customers find it difficult to deploy complete IoT solutions. What is needed is a simple, unified platform (or SYSTEM) that we can use to build and interconnect solutions.
Cisco’s IoT system has been developed to help your customers overcome this complexity
Converge & Manage their networks easier
Reduce operational costs
Support new business models
Improve product quality & enable differentiation
In green are Devices, sensors and machines at the edge and applications up top at the user interface level… but all the complexity is in the middle… and this is where the true value of the IoT System from Cisco comes in to play…
The Cisco IoT System Makes designing & deploying IoT Easier. Let me say that again… The Cisco IoT System Makes designing & deploying IoT Easier.
The platform has six pillars that we will cover individually in the 6 Sales Byte videos that follow this Overview. These pillars work closely together and minimize proposal time for you and integration costs for our customers.
It helps Enterprises deploy, accelerate and innovate with IoT Solutions …by managing the complexity with an integrated systems approach.
Because it is based on a systems approach, the Cisco IoT System enables stronger security, lowers integration costs, and accelerates innovation. Its products and technologies are purpose built for application in industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, utilities, transportation, mining, and public sector industries.
The system consists of six pillars based on function, each pillar represents a unique set of products and technologies that address specific needs of IoT that are common across all verticals:
Network Connectivity
Fog Computing
Data Analytics
Security Cyber and Physical
Management and Automation
Application Enablement Platform
Bringing everything together in one holistic system instead of a disparate collection of technologies, the IoT System is a new offering & framework from Cisco.
It maps all of our IOT products and some of our broader Cisco products that can be deployed as a System.
With the Cisco IoT System, our customers can more quickly integrate Info Tech (IT) and
Operational Technology (OT) environments and gain new business insights with analytics from the network.
You’ll also be able to help customers deploy physical and cybersecurity consistently, and help them create innovative infrastructures to compete in a new era of digitization with IoT and IoE.
Only Cisco has offerings that comprise a system covering all 6 pillars.
The launch of Cisco’s IoT System with these 6 pillars conveys three key messages to the market:
1. Cisco has a comprehensive portfolio of IoT infrastructure technologies and products that organization can deploy RIGHT NOW!
2. Cisco’s IoT System is enabling an ecosystem of technology partners to build innovative IoT solutions across all verticals
3. Only Cisco has offerings across all six pillars enabling IoT solutions for our customers.
The Cisco IoT System Makes designing & deploying IoT Easier.
