3. INTRODUCTION
The project Inventory Management System is a complete desktop based application designed on Net
technology using Visual Studio Software.
The main aim of the project is to develop Inventory Management System Model software in which
all the information regarding the stock of the organization will be presented.
It is an intranet based desktop application which has admin component to manage the inventory and
maintenance of the inventory system
4. Requirements Gathering: Understand the requirements of the inventory management system, such
as types of products, quantity tracking, user roles, etc.
Create Database Schema: Implement the database schema based on the design created in the
previous step using SQL or a database management tool.
Data Population: Insert sample data into the tables to test the functionality of the system.
User Interface Design: Design the user interface for interacting with the inventory management
system. This could be a web application, desktop application, or mobile application.
Backend Development: Develop the backend logic to handle CRUD operations (Create, Read,
Update, Delete) on the database.
IMPLEMENTATION
5. Frontend Development: Implement the user interface based on the design created earlier. Ensure it
can interact with the backend to perform operations on the database.
Testing: Test the system thoroughly to ensure it meets the requirements and functions correctly
Deployment: Deploy the inventory management system to the desired environment, whether it's a
local server or a cloud platform.
Maintenance and Updates: Regularly maintain the system, fix bugs, and incorporate any necessary
updates or enhancements based on user feedback.
15. CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the development and implementation of an Inventory Management System (IMS) represent
a significant step towards enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of inventory control within
organizations. Through the utilization of modern technologies, including Database Management Systems
(DBMS), businesses can streamline their inventory processes, optimize resource utilization, and improve
decision-making capabilities.
