Job Overview:
The SIA (Senior Inventory Accountant) / ERP System Analyst will be responsible for specific assigned
aspects of inventory accounting, reporting and controls, including inventory valuation for the Logistics
Function and COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) for the Global Sales organization; while ensuring compliance
with process & policy. With the assistance of dedicated resources from HDS Shared Services centers in
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Krakow, Poland; this role provides oversight and reporting for HDS Distribution
Centers world wide; including the IDC (International Distribution Center @ Norman, OK), the EDC
(European Distribution Center) and the ADC (Asian Distribution Center).
Professional and timely resolution of all issues is required as is the timely and accurate reconciliation of
inventory figures and resolution of related inventory or COGs transactions. The SIA plays a pivotal in the
monthly close cycle and as a result the SIA is expected to be available at specific times outside of standard
working hours in order to perform pre-defined activities.
The SIA will also play a critical role in leveraging existing or enhancing ERP functionality to not only
maintain, but improve the overall “controls profile” for Inventory Accounting, Reporting and SOX Controls.
Job Responsibilities will include elements from the following:
I. Accounting and Control (50%)
Coordinate, oversee or perform specific aspects of the Oracle ERP Global Monthly Inventory Close
Process, (staffed and supported at Corporate and HDS Shared Services locations in KRK and KL) by
establishing and maintaining procedures that ensure:
o Timely running and execution of month end interdependent ERP sub ledger and related
applications
o If required, perform specific ERP inventory close related process tasks, including the closing
and opening of inventory orgs (locations) globally for all Distribution Centers (IDC, ADC & EDC)
o The data integrity of GDS (Global Decision Support) / BO (Business Objects) Data Warehouse
(or subsequent upgrades or enhancements to Data Warehouse platform including Aires)
agrees with Oracle Inventory Sub ledger.
Coordinate, oversee or perform the process to update Global COGS for HDS Hardware and Software
at Corporate and Shared Services locations for the following:
o Oracle ERP Item Master (by KRK SSC)
o Insight CRM Price / Cost Lists (TBD)
Ensure Monthly Global Standard Revaluation is calculated consistently and recorded on a timely basis
in KRK SSC.
Oversee, Analyze, Evaluate, Review and Record Global Inventory or Inventory Related Reserves
o On-Loan Inventory (by KRK SSC)
Consigned Inventory at a customer location, where HDS still holds title).
Third Party Customers – Bulk of activity
Internal Use - More limited
2. o Global Quarterly On-Hand Inventory (Done in SC or Waardenburg by Corp Inv Acctg Staff)
New and used inventory available for sale
Other specialized reserves required for OH Inventory Balances
o RMA Credits - Clearing and Disposition (by KRK SSC)
o Third Party Rebates like Brocade, Cisco, etc. (by KRK SSC)
Oversee process that ensures Hitachi VOI (Vendor Owned Inventory) Activity for shipments from RSD
(Hicam + Hicef) is recorded accurately and timely (by KRK SSC)
Oversee process (in KRK SSC) to calculate and control PPV (Purchase Price Variances) that include
the following:
o Third Party Hardware and Software
o Hitachi Hardware & Software
PPV
RSD Special Pricing
HDS Self Funding
Hitachi Software Royalty Accounting
On an as required basis, develop the expertise to support the Analysis and Monthly Account
Reconciliations prepared by Shared Services to:
o Ensure reconciliations are completed on a timely basis consistent with schedules and due
dates established by Corporate Controller.
o Timely follow-up and resolution of reconciling items
o Look toward continuous improvement, simplification, automation or elimination of the account
reconciliations, based on risk assessment or other mitigating controls.
o Adequate documentation is in place for cross training and turnover.
Support and coordinate audit related requirements
o PBC’s and other audit specific reports and documentation for samples selected
Internal Audit
External Auditors
Government Auditors
o Participate in maintaining compliance with internal control
o Update and maintain relevant SOX Narratives
II. Reporting (30%)
Coordinate the collection / compilation of required information in order to prepare designated global
management reporting
o Develop and Refine Global Inventory Flash
Publish to EVP Global Logistics and Corporate Controller
Provide Preliminary Gross Inventory balances

o Application testing, support and correction of system problems by participating with IT
in testing upgrades, modifications and enhancements to Oracle ERP and related
inventory accounting applications
Researching ERP problems; helping identify root causes and developing corrective
actions.

4. Primary Qualifications
BA / BS in Finance or Accounting Preferred
Four to six years applicable work experience in finance or accounting
Ability to interact with Senior Finance and Function executives, VP’s and their staff
Strong accounting and analytical skills, logical reasoning, and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to speak to finance and operational colleagues and
explain accounting issues and impacts
Ability to function as an engaged member of a cross-functional team or as an effective team leader
when either situation is required
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks ensuring that tasks are completed appropriately and deadlines are met
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience with financial accounting and reporting systems (Oracle, Hyperion, Business Objects, etc)
