The document discusses 10 inventions from the past that changed the world such as the plow, wheel, printing press, and steam engine. It then outlines 10 potential future inventions that could have a large impact such as computers that surpass human intelligence, atomic-powered homes, personal jetpacks, and driverless cars. The inventions highlighted span transportation, energy, artificial intelligence, space exploration, and other areas that could revolutionize life if successfully developed.

Dr. Whidden Fairfax VA | Famous Inventions that Changed the World.drwhiddenfairfaxva
Dr. Whidden Fairfax VA - Whenever any new invention is unveiled to the world, a stunning piece of new technology is made that instantly changes everything. There's certainly a lot of redesigning and experimenting when it comes to inventions, but it takes a lot longer time. Every invention has problems, and it might not be until some other inventor comes along that they get solved. Here are some inventions that changed the course of the world.
With the news of the recent passing of Sir Clive Sinclair, we take a look back at the life and innovations of a pioneering man who was in many ways ahead of his time, and was one of the founding fathers of the home computing boom in the UK in the early 1980s.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
7. 5 COMMUNICATIONS
Samuel Morse
invented the electric
telegraph in 1836
(building on the prior
work of others, of
course)
Transmitting signals
wirelessly using
electromagnetic
waves was a concept
worked on by many
inventors around the world,
but Guglielmo Marconi and
Nikola Tesla popularized it
in the early 20th century.
8. 6 STEAM ENGINE
In 1769, James Watt
modified a Newcomen
engine.
9. 7 AUTOMOBILE
Karl Benz's 1885 Henry Ford's improvements
in the production process
Motorwagen, is brought the price and the
widely considered desire for owning an auto into
the first automobile. the reach of most Americans.
Europe soon followed.
10. 8 LIGHT BULB
Thomas Joseph Ediswan

LIGHT BULB STRUCTURE
12. 9 COMPUTER
Mechanical computing devices were in
existence in the 1800s (there were even rare
devices that could be considered computers
in ancient eras), Alan Turing - british
but electronic computers were invented in mathematician
the 20th century.
13. 10 INTERNET
DARPA ( the research and development arm of the U.S.
military), created ARPANET in the late 1960s.
Intention of the network of computer-to-computer
connections
- military and academic research
The birth of the internet
-late 1970s ;single protocol, TCP/IP,
It took 10 or so years for various other networks in the world
to adopt the new protocol, making the Internet truly global.
15. 1 A COMPUTER THAT'S SMARTER
THAN A HUMAN
''The brain works in a completely different fashion than computers do," -said Paul
Allen
. "You can't create an artificial intelligence, unless you know how the real thing
works"-Allen insisted
*Paul Allen- American investor; co-founder (with Bill Gates) of Microsoft
Corporation.
2 ATOMIC- 3 THE AIR-
POWERED HOMES CONDITIONET SUIT
Wouldn't it be better if you could wear
-individual homes would be heated and air conditioning suit on your body,
cooled by small reactors within three to so you could stroll down the street on
six years the hottest day in July without breaking
*risk – radiation exposure a sweat?
16. 4 PERSONAL JETPACKS
In 2011, a remote-controlled prototype made by a
New Zealand company(Martin Aircraft) demonstrated
the ability to reach an altitude of 1,524m, cruise
at100 kilometers per hour, and stayed aloft for 30
minutes; the gadgets are not yet being offered for
sale.
5 FOOD IN A PILL
-creating food pills that would contain everything
necessary for human's life
- feat that would render man forever independent of
natural resources
6 TICKET TO MARS
If one man went and walk on the
Moon(1969), why humans couldn't venture
lending to Mars?
17. 7 ROBOT MAIDS
Roboticists continue to prove that few tasks lay
outside the reach of a properly engineered machine.
8 THE UNDERWATER CITY
Some tests proved that humans can live and work for
extended periods of time underwater. Test
subjects:underwater gardens, tackled underwater
construction projects.
9 THE FLYING CAR
-Between 1996 and 2002, NASA's Breakthrough
Propulsion Physics Project explored the possibilities
of antigravity.
-For now at least, flying cars and hoverboards
remain outside the reach of human technology.
10 THE DRIVERLESS CAR
-project by Google
-test vehicles were driving 1,000 miles without any
human intervention, in addition to 140,000 miles with
occasional human intervention.
