What is Egyptian civilization?
Egyptian civilization develop along the Nile
River in large part because the rivers annual
flooding ensured reliable rich soil the growing
crops.
.It was devided into upper & Lower part.
.United by king narmer for the forst time.
What is mummification?
The methods of
embalming,or treating the
dead body
,that the
ancient Egyptians used is
called mummification.
Using special processes,
the Egyptians removed all
moisture from the body,
leaving only a dried form
that would not easily
decay.
Who was pharaoh?
The Pharaoh in ancientEgypt
was the political and
religious leader of the people
and held the titles 'Lord of
the Two Lands' and 'High
Priestof Every Temple'. The
word 'pharaoh' is the Greek
form of the Egyptian pero or
per-a-a,which was the
designation for the royal
residence and means `
Great
House'.
What is Mythology?
A mythology is a collection of myths or stories
about a specific person,culture,religion,or any
group with shared beliefs.M ost people don’t
consider mythology to be entirely true,but they
still take it seriously
.
A myth is a story about the olden days,often
featuring supernatural characters, and a
mythology is a bunch of myths that are related to
each other.
Mythology can also mean the study of myths in an
academic situation,like studying mythology at a
university.
What is ka?
Life force or spirit of a person which continues
to exist after death. It requires the mummified
body for its survival.The symbol for the ka is a
pair of extended arms.
What is canopic jars?
Canopic jars were used by the ancient
Egyptians during the mummification process, to
store and preserve the viscera of their owner for
the afterlife.They were commonly either carved
from limestone, or were made of pottery.
These jars were used by the ancient Egyptians
from the time of the Old Kingdom, until the time
of the Late Period or the Ptolemaic Period, by
which time the viscera were simply wrapped
and placed with the body
.
What is Hieroglyphics or Hieroglyphs?
Egyptian hieroglyphs were the formal writing
system used in Ancient Egypt, used for writing
the Egyptian language. Hieroglyphs combined
logographic, syllabic and alphabetic elements,
with some 1,000 distinct characters.Cursive
hieroglyphs were used for religious literature
on papyrus and wood
What is Egyptian architecture?
Spanning over two
thousand year ancient
Egypt was not one stable
civilization but in constant
change upheaval
commonly split into
periods historians.
What is pictorial script?
Pictorial script is a script which uses pictures,
and symbols,Chinese ,korean and Japanese use
pictorial script.
What is Mastaba?
Mastaba means “Bench” in Arabic.A
rectangular block with slopping sides . More
mass than enclosed space.
Necropolises:
necropolis is a large, designed cemetery with elaborate tomb
monuments. The name stems from the Ancient Greek
nekropolis, literally meaning "city of the dead".
