This document provides an overview of the key features available in the Control Panel module of the Minerva system, including quick access to files, module tools like media and assignments, student performance monitoring, group collaboration tools, customization options, and support contact information. The Control Panel allows instructors to manage various aspects of their modules like content, grades, users, and properties from one centralized location.

2. In this tutorial we are
going to explore the
key features available
in the Minerva module
Control Panel.

3. The Control Panel
appears below the side
menu and can be
accessed by instructors
in both Edit Mode ON
and OFF. It is not
available to students.

4. Each section of the
Control Panel expands
when you select the
arrowheads. Let’s
explore the key
features in each area.

5. The Control Panel
provides quick access to
your content stored in your
Minerva Files area. Most
instructors will not need to
access the Minerva files
area because you can
upload your files directly to
the module area from your
PC or network drive.

6. Module Tools provides
access to tools available to
use with your students
including: Module Media,
Blackboard Collaborate
Ultra and Turnitin
Assignments.

7. The Evaluation area
provides tools to
monitor student
performance e.g. the
Performance
Dashboard retains a
log of the last time
and date each
member of the
module (including
staff), accessed the
space.

8. The Grade Centre can
be used to keep track of
activity both in Minerva
and offline. Grades can
be shared with
individual students via
the My Grades tool. Be
careful note to share
summative grades not
yet finalised.

9. The Groups area provides tools
for setting up group
collaborative spaces within the
module.
From Users, staff can access a
list of everyone enrolled on the
module. Ad-hoc users can also
be manually enrolled here, but
only as a student. Formal
enrolments must be completed
via other University systems
e.g. Banner.

10. Customisation provides a range of
tools to assist with setting up and
styling your module e.g. you can
add a banner image to the
Announcements page (default
entry point to modules).
Properties is where module
availability is managed. Modules
are unavailable to students by
default, so remember to make
yours available in time for the start
of teaching.

11. From the Packages
and Utilities area you
can download a copy
of your module, copy
all your content to
another module (or
organisation) you
have instructor/leader
permissions on and
import third-party
content.

12. The Support area
provides a link to
contact the IT Service
Desk, if you need
technical assistance
with Minerva.
