Brandon Thomas completed several inventories and assessments that provided insight into his interests, strengths, and personality. He learned that he prefers hands-on learning and fulfilling tasks, and enjoys using logic and problem solving. Thomas interviewed a student at CCV to learn about their experiences and why they chose that school. For his career exploration, Thomas chose computer science as his field of study. He provided descriptions of programming and animation jobs within that field, along with education requirements for undergraduate and graduate programs. In his reflection, Thomas noted that completing the entire assignment at once was challenging and that he could have benefited from spreading it out or conducting an additional interview.

2. Inventories and Assessment Overview
From these I learned that I like to learn when I
can (Intrapersonal, Visual, and Investigative)
and fulfill duties as needed (Conventional and
Enterprising). I also realized that I try to put a
logical piece into everything, which I had never
really thought about, for it usually, happens
subconsciously and automatic. Also these
assessments hint at my strong suits which are
managing something and collecting data and
that I have always been good at mathematics.

I did not interview someone that is within
the field of study I wish to pursue however, I
interviewed the person I interviewed because
they attend CCV and I wanted to know more
about their experiences at CCV.
From the interviewed I learned how they
see CCV, “teachers are helpful and the staff are
personable”. I also see why she attended CCV,
“It’s close to home, small classes, and more
personal time, and CCV is located within the
community”.

Chosen Field of Study: Computer Science
Description of Field of Study: Computer science is a field that spans
theory and practice. It requires thinking both in abstract terms
and in concrete terms. They must also be able to design solutions
and verify that they are correct. Problem solving requires
precision, creativity, and careful reasoning.
Examples of Positions:
Programing Based Job
Programs computers to fulfill certain tasks or correct programs
that do not work correctly. Creates applications for a computer.
Animation Based Job
Designs animations for various items. This includes anywhere
from simple computer animations such as films to ride animations
in amusements parks such as Disney World.

Answer: I knew some jobs within this field of
study but did not realize how widespread this
field is.

Answer: First I laid out what information the
assignment was looking for within Powerpoint,
then I inserted the information that I knew. After
that I searched around various websites to find
the information I did not know. Lastly, I uploaded
the presentation to SlideShare.

went well? What would you have done differently
were you to do this again? What additional

Answer: I honestly found myself doing this
assignment all at once. I wish I had done it
spread out over time. If I was to do this again I
might interview someone within this field of
study rather than someone who went to the
school I may go to.
