This document provides instructions for students to create their first blog post. It details how to set up a blog on Blogger.com, customize it with images and gadgets, and write an introductory blog post. For the first post, it recommends including name, age, interests, hobbies like reading, music and movies preferences. It also provides formatting tips for embedding audio or video when introducing yourself.

2. 1. This will be your first post on your blog. You
have to create and customize your blog
(blogger.com)
2. After that, make an audio recording or a short
video introducing yourself. Then, upload it via
some e-tool, such as:
1. http://www.goear.com/ (audio)
2. https://www.youtube.com/ (video)
3. Create your first post, and embed the
video/audio together with a short introduction

3.  Create (if you don’t have one) a gmail
account
 Go to: http://blogger.com/
 Create your blog (Nuevo Blog / New Blog):
 Choose the name
 Choose the address
 Choose the template (plantilla)
 Do it fast! You can change all this later!
 You have to tell the teacher your blog’s address!!!!
 Select your blog and customize it!

5.  Diseño / Layout (?)
 Top of the blog: Add an image (clicking on “gadget”)
 On the side bar
 Add one photo / picture of yourself or something you feel
idenfidied with
 Add the “follow by e-mail” gadget (“seguir por correo…”)
 Add the “share it” gadget (it is located on “More gadgets”)
 If you want to, add other gadgets… but don’t overload it!
 Bottom of the blog
 You can add some other interesting gadget (funny
sentences, author…)

7.  You can change the background
 By clicking Personalizar / Customize(?) you
make further changes

8.  “Lo Básico”
 You can change the blog’s name and address, as
well as many other settings
 “Idioma y Formato”
 You should set the language into English and the
proper time zone!
 Check the other options in case you want to
change something else!

10.  You write your first post:
 ENTRADA > ENTRADA NUEVA
 IMPORTANT BUTTONS
 Publicar (Post)– The post will appear on your blog
 Guardar (Save / Draft)– You save it as a draft (it
won’t appear on your blog until you click
“Publicar”)
 Vista previa – You see how it will look like, but it
doesn’t save or publish/post

12.  1. Create it and upload it to some host
1. http://www.goear.com/ (audio)
2. https://www.youtube.com/ (video)
 2. Then, copy the “Embed”/“Insertar” code
 3. On your blog entry/post, click the HTML Button
and paste it on the proper place

15.  Once you have added some introductory text, click
on “Vista previa” to check everything is ok.
 Then, you can “Publicar” it!

16.  If you use GOEAR the audio must be MP3.
 You have to do the same: Upload it, copy the
embed code and paste it on your blog on the
HTML mode

18. Hello cupcakes!
My name is Laura and I am 29 years old… almost 30, though. I was born in
Barcelona, but now I live in Barberà del Vallès, a small town located
between Barcelona and Sabadell. I work as an English teacher at INS
Can Planas in Barberà, as well.
What can I say bout myself?
I love reading, specially fantastic or horror novels. What I love most are
vampire stories, but not the “Twilight” style, I mean traditional ones.
That’s why my favourite author is Anne Rice, who wrote Interview
with the vampire and the Vampire Chronicles saga.
This year I learnt how to knit, and I like doing amigurumis to give as
presents. “What are amigurumis?” You will ask… They are plush toys
you do by knitting. And thanks to that I have found out (and I am
also interested in) DIY (or Do It Yourself), which means recycling or
customizing things you don’t use any more into new ones.
And as almost everybody… I like going to the cinema and watching movies,
but I don’t have a favourite type of movie… Despite that, I can say two
of my favourite films are Requiem for a dream and The fight Club.
My favourite actor has always been Brad Pitt, because he’s very
handsome and I think he is good at acting… but I also like a lot
Johnny Depp, because he always plays very different, special and
interesting roles.
Finally, I am not really into sports… but I try to go swimming once or twice a
week, and I also go rollerblading whenever I can. And, although I like
listening to music too, I don’t have any favourite singer or band right
now. I like a lot of different styles.
