My name is Michael. I am from Sant Pere de Ribes, a city in Barcelona (Spain). I’m 37
years old. I’m short and thin. My eyes are brown. I am bald (I have no hair). I am
friendly, polite and funny.
I live in a house with my family. I speak Spanish, Catalan, English and a little French. I
am an English teacher. I work in Les Roquetes school. I like my job very much.
My hobbies are cooking, travelling, doing exercise, handcrafts, music and technology.
I love baking cakes and decorating them. It’s great sharing them with my family.
Travelling around the World is fantastic. You see different ways of life, you get to
meet interesting people and try different food.
I listen to music everyday. I love going to concerts of my favourite pop stars.

3. MY FAVOURITE BOOK
My favourite book is Wonder. It is a fiction story. The author is R.J.
Palacio. This book is a best seller. It was number 1 in New York Times
and it won many awards. It’s got 416 pages.
The story is about August. He is a young boy who is different because
he’s got a facial disease. Some boys bully him, but his family and his
friends stand by his side and help him become stronger.
The main character is August. He’s very fun and friendly. He’s got short
black hair. He likes Science and he’s good at making jokes. His best
friends are Auggie and Jack Will.
I love this book because it’s got a powerful anti-bullying message:
“Treat everyone with respect” and “say no to bullying”.
4. MY BEST FRIEND
My best friend Gemma. She’s a girl. She is short and not so thin.
She is intelligent, friendly and a very good. She has got long
straight hair. She has got green eyes.
She is a very positive person. She is always there to help or to
talk. She gives me good advice. Gemma is 37 years old, like me.
Gemma works in a library. She loves her job and she loves
reading, so I think it’s the perfect job for her. She works in
Tarragona and she goes to her job by train, everyday.
She loves handcrafts, she’s very good at creating artistic objects.
She also plays the piano and she’s a very good cook.
I know Gemma since we were 2 years old!

5. MY FAVOURITE MUSIC
My favourite kind of music is pop. My favourite band is “La Oreja de Van Gogh”.
I love them. I love the music and the lyrics of their songs. I have all their CD’s
and some concert DVD’s too. I have been to many of their concerts.
I usually listen to all kind of music. I like dance, r&b, pop rock, ballads… it
depends on the moment.
I usually listen to upbeat music when I am in a positive mood and I want to
dance and sing loud. I love to listen to “dance” music when I’m driving my car.
I sometime listen to quiet and relaxing music when I’m working with my
computer.
Also I can play the acoustic guitar, but I don’t play it much lately.
6. LET’S GO TO NEW YORK. DAY 1
On Saturday, in the morning, we
are going to visit the Statue of
Liberty. We are going to go by ferry.
Then, around 11 o’clock, we’re visit
the 9/11 Memorial. There are
beautiful fountains and gardens
At 1 o’clock we are going to grab a
hot dog and a coke and we are
going to eat in Central Park
After lunch we are going to the
Natural History Museum. I’m
excited to see the dinosaurs bones!
In the afternoon we are going to
the Empire State Building and take
some photos from the top.
Before dinner, we are going to
Broadway street to see a show.

7. LET’S GO TO NEW YORK. DAY 2
In the morning we are going to the
One World Observatory. It’s 35
dollars.
For lunch we are going to Dave and
Busters. I’m going to eat pizza. Then
we will play some games
After lunch we are going to Chelsea
Pier to try golf. I’m excited!
In the afternoon we are going to
Dylan’s Candy Bar to take a tour and
buy some sweets.
In the afternoon, at 6:30 pm, we are
going to see a Broadway show: The
Lion King.
Now let’s go to the airport!

9. MY FAVOURITE SPORTSPERSON
My favourite sportsperson is Gemma Mengual. Her nickname is “The
Mermaid of Barcelona”. She lives in St Cugat del Vallés.
She was born in 1977, so she is 43 years old now.
She started doing Synchronized Swimming when she was 8 years old.
She won many medals and competitions.
She participated in 3 Olympic Games: 2000, 2004 and 2008.
In 2012 she retired from professional competition.
In 2018 she participated in the TV show “Bailando con las estrellas”
Synchronized swimming is also called Artistic Swimming.
I like her because she worked hard to achieve her dreams.
10. THE PIZZA MUSEUM

In this museum you can learn about the history of
pizza, you can see the biggest pizza in the World
and very strange pizzas and you can make and
eat your own pizza...yummy!

11. SCHOOL YEAR SUMMARY
This school year was
fantastic. I had a good
time! We learned a lot of
things but we also had
fun.
My favourite subject
was English, of course.
We sang songs, played
games and learned a
lot.
My favourite activity was the Stop Motion
workshop, because it was easy and
interesting. We created fun videos.
My favourite school trip the English trip.
We went to Barcelona and we watched
Frankenstein and to the exposition Bodies.
My favourite school
festival was when we
celebrated Carnival. I had
so much fun. We dressed
up as artists and famous
paints and we danced a
lot.
