This 5th grade teacher has 15 years of experience and a master's degree in elementary education from the University of Central Florida. She is currently pursuing additional degrees at the University of Florida in educational technology and a second master's. She teaches math, science, and social studies at a Title 1 school in Kissimmee, Florida. She sees a need for students to receive more formal technology education and aims to integrate the skills she learns into her classroom.

This is my 4th
year teaching at Cypress Elementary in
Kissimmee Florida
I have a total of 15 years of teaching experience
I have a Master Degree in Elementary Education from the
University of Central Florida
I have my certification in Media Specialist from the
University of Central Florida
I am currently enrolled in the Educational Technology
program at the University of Florida- Go Gators!
oMy future goals include pursuing a second master’s
degree from the University of Florida, and maybe even
going into a doctoral program!

3. This is my first course on my current journey at the University of
Florida. I chose this class as a good place to start because I
currently teach elementary school and I see how little formal
education students are receiving in the technology that they are
going to be required to use throughout their educational career.
Very few of my students know the basics uses of a computer and
how to use the programs available to produce their work. When I
returned to the education field 4 years ago I was shocked that
students are expected to use the computer to complete
standardized test and will eventually have to type their responses
in paragraph form, but have never been exposed to any word
processing skills.

4. Although I try to use technology with my students I have very limited
access to our schools computer lab. I use my Smart board on a daily
basis with my students and I try to let the students use the board as
often as possible. I have taught myself how to use the technology in my
classroom, therefore I look forward to learning different programs,
websites and resources that I can bring back to my classroom. I have
used PowerPoint before, but this time I am going to attempt to use a
new website to me to present this multimedia presentation, Slideshare-
hopefully it goes well!

5. I am the mother of two beautiful and intelligent daughters.
My oldest daughter is in the Pro-Teach program at UF and will be graduating
with her master’s degree December 2014. Go GATORS!!!
My youngest daughter is a sophomore in high school.
I am technology geek- I still have the very first iPod produced and I usually buy
the newest technology before my daughters even get it.
My biggest passion is spending time with my daughters- thankfully they don’t
mind spending time with me 
My hidden talent is being able to work with young people with problem solving, I
have been told that I am a good listener and I am able to help young people
understand the implications of their personal decisions. I have a great relationship
with my daughters and therefore I understand today’s youth and the problems they
face in everyday life.
I live in Kissimmee, Florida- so Mickey Mouse is my neighbor, although I rarely
visit him and his friends.
I am originally from Cleveland Ohio, but growing up I was an Army brat and
have spent the least amount of my life in my birth state.
I have lived in 5 different states and two different cities in Germany. I was made
in Italy, but my dad was shipped back to the US one month before I was born- it
would have been way cooler to say I was born in Vicenza, Italy.
