Fan Base
McFlyAs McFly have recently
teamed up with Busted and
are due to release their first
album together, we decided
to ask some fans questions
about their recent success
and what they think will
happen in the future.
So, who is your favourite
member of McFly?
Fan 1: Dougie Poynter,
mainly because I feel he is the
one I have most in common
with and he is just a lovely,
gorgeous, sweet guy. The
other three aren’t far behind
though.
Fan 2: I can’t pick! I love each
one for different reasons and
it changes constantly!
Fan 3: Danny, he’s the most
talented one.
So overall they are all pretty
great, must be difficult to
choose. Do you have an all
time favourite song?
Fan 1: I would say that it’s
probably Ignorance, because
it’s different to most of their
other songs. I just love the
style of it really.
Fan 2: I really love all the
old Room on the Third Floor
b-sides like Easy Way Out, Get
Over You and The Guy Who
Turned Her Down; but my all
time favourite is the
acoustic version of No
Worries. It encapsulates the
McFly sound so perfectly. It’s a
song that expresses the love I
have for them in words.
Fan 3: I’ve Got You, It was the
first song I’ve heard from them
and it made me fall in love
with them immediately.
Over the years, celebrities
have influenced a lot of
people. Have any members of
McFly influenced you in any
way?
Fan 1: Tom has influenced
me to be a better person, to
become more positive with
those around me. Danny has
shown me not to take myself
so seriously, and to smile more
frequently. Dougie has made
me feel that even in your dark-
est days things can get better.
Finally Harry has influenced
me to believe in myself, do the
things I want to do, with no
regrets.
Fan 2: Reading their
autobiography greatly
influenced me; especially
when Dougie talked about his
addiction/suicide attempt and
Tom sharing his experiences
about having Bipolar disorder.
Obviously we have to talk
about the collaboration with
Busted. Do you think it was a
good idea?
Fan 1: I think it was an
amazing decision. We have
had McFly now for 10 years
and I think it’s refreshing what
they have done.
