The presenter interviews the writer, director, and stars of the new romantic comedy film "Step Sisters". Zoe, the writer, explains that the film tells the story of two girls from different backgrounds who become step-sisters and fall for the same boy. Vanessa describes enjoying her role as the down-to-earth country girl Jane. Becca recommends the film for teenage girls and anyone looking for a fun laugh. The film is set for release on Valentine's Day.

The studio is set out with the presenter sat on one couch which is on the left and the
director, writer and the three cast members are sat one another couch which is on the right.
In the background, the trailer and clips from the movie are playing on a large projector,
without sound.

Hey guys, its Yusra Ali and welcome to MTV films. We’ve got a great show lined up for you
tonight and you guys at home will be the first to check out the latest and most fun loving
film of the year, step sisters. Later in the show, the stars of the new film is coming in and
telling us about the new movie. Check out the new trailer
(CUT TO TRAILER OF THE MOVIE)

Didn’t that look like something you would like to go and watch?! Amazing. I’m now joined
by the writer, director and the stars of the film. Please welcome Vanessa, Becca, Zoe, Mary
and John!
(AUDIENCE CHEER)
Presenter
Welcome to the studio guys! Thanks for coming. Firstly I would like to ask Zoe, what is the
storyline of this movie?
Zoe
Well, it’s about two different girls who lead two very different lives. One of them is from the
country and the other one from the city. They soon become step sisters. Then they both fall
in love with the same boy and have a massive argument. You’ll have to see the movie to see
what happens!
Presenter
That sounds good! So I know that this movie is based on the book you wrote. What gave you
the idea to come up with the story?

2. Zoe
Well……I got the idea from what I experienced in my teenage years. So this movie is basically
my life story from when I was 18, about me, my step-sister and the boy I loved, who I now
call my husband (giggles) I wrote this book because I thought it could relate to many
teenage girls with the same dilemma that I had.
Presenter
Aw, that’s so sweet! (Looks and starts talking to Vanessa) so, Vanessa...You play the
country girl called Jane which is one of the main characters of the movie. What can you tell
us about her?
Vanessa
I absolutely loved playing the role as Jane! She is a very down to earth character and the girl
that everybody loves. She is very mature, bubbly character and has a very good sense of
humour. She obviously isn’t used to the city life because she’s lived in the countryside the
whole of her life, but then she goes to New York to see her new step sister and everything
goes wrong. Like Zoe said, you’ll have to go and see the movie to see what happens next!
(Laughs)

Wow, I bet it was fun playing a character like that! Let’s take a look at Vanessa playing the
role of Jane
(SHOWS A FUNNY CLIP OF A SCENE IN WHICH VANESSA PLAYS THE ROLE OF JANE)
(Everyone laughs)
Vanessa
(Laughs) I LOVED playing the role of Jane! And that was one of my favourite scenes!
Presenter
(Laughs) yeah that was funny and I bet it was! (Talks to Becca) Anyway, who would you
recommend this movie to and why?
Becca
I would definitely recommend this movie to teenage girls who love watching romantic,
comedy movies. It will definitely make people laugh...so people who like a good laugh
should also go and see it. But anyone can go see it really; it’s a movie that everyone can
watch and be like ‘wow that was amazing’ as soon as they finish watching it. (Giggles)

And boys, you should go and see it too. Come on, don’t be shy...you know you want to go
and see it when it comes out (winks and laughs)
(Everyone laughs)
Presenter
So I’ve heard that this movie is already nominated for 5 Oscar awards. That’s amazing. How
do you feel about that? (Looks at Becca)
Becca
It’s unreal. One year ago, I had a dream. I dreamt that one day I’ll be a successful actress
and win an Oscar award, and now I’m living the dream! I mean, the movie is up for 5
awards! That’s just crazy... I’m so blessed.
Presenter
And you and the cast really do deserve it! I would like to congratulate you and everyone else
who took part in making the movie such a success.
(Everyone claps)

Ok, now we talk to John! I know all the girls watching have been looking forward to this!
(Everyone laughs)
Presenter
So, John. Thanks for coming in today! Firstly, I’ve seen the advert for this movie everywhere,
so you guys are pretty well known now. Especially you John, I mean, you’ve become a great
hit with the teenage girls! How do you feel about millions of people recognising your faces
now?
John
You know, it’s all very new to me and I’m still not used to it. It’s crazy to think millions of
people now know you when just only a year ago, I wasn’t noticed very much (Giggles). It’s
quite scary to be honest (Laughs) the amount of teenage girls and paparazzi that follow you
everywhere is just...mental. It’s crazy. But you know, I’m living the dream and loving every
moment of it. I’m very thankful for all the support from the fans and I’m just very thankful
that Mary, which is the director, chose me to be part of this movie. It has really changed my
life.

4. Presenter
Aw, love that you’re now living the dream and loving every moment of it! So last but not
least, when is the movie released?
John
The movie will be coming out on Valentine’s Day, so it will be a great treat to bring your
lovers to go and watch it together on that very special day (winks)
