1. Interview
You are interviewing for an internship with a research firm. It is crucial that you thoroughly
know about cell function, differentiation, and organization of organisms. Ms. Russo is the
research firm's hiring manager. Knock her socks off!
Note: A crucial skill you will need when you go out into the real world is the ability to ace an
interview. Being able to articulate your thoughts successfully will be the key to landing that
perfect job. Use this activity as an opportunity to hone your interview skills.
Tips:
1. Prepare Ahead of Time
The main reason most people suck at interviews is a lack of preparation. So, study the material
and make sure you KNOW IT. Recite what you would like to say out loud and practice with
someone. The rubric tells you exactly what you will need to know.
2. Carry Yourself Well
Your interview starts the second you walk in the door, so be ready. Practice walking into a room
if you have to. But more than anything, learn how first impressions work and do everything you
can to make a good one: be on time, dress and groom yourself well, and be aware of your body
language; negative body language can sabotage the interview more than you might realize.
