Internship Reflection Essay
My Reflection: I have been very lucky to complete an internship with Wayne County Bank this summer. It was a rewarding experience and I have
gained valuable knowledge that will be beneficial to me as I continue to pursue my career in Finance. Growing up in a small town with a bank that
truly serves our community is inspiring. As a high school student, I volunteered to help WCB in any way needed at the Relay for Life or any other
activity they hosted. The work day in the Bookkeeping department begins at 8 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. except on Fridays when we close an hour later for
customer convenience. First thing in the morning we sort the internal reports that print before we arrive and give them to the employee that will use the

These returns are put with a copy of the original item and sent to the mailing address we have on the customer file. They will then be processed with
all the other mail to go to the Post Office at the end of the day. Some of our business customers have requested that they receive a fax ofthe return as
soon as it is processed so that they may take the appropriate actions on their end. The biggest part of my job was answering all the customer phone
calls. At any point in the day, a customer might call to ask about their account. I answer the phone and assist the customer with anything they need.
Customers usually want to know their current balance or if a check has entered their account yet, but sometimes they want to know about the last few
transactions so I go over those and give them the information they are requesting. Many of the same customers call frequently so I began recognizing
their voices and they started referring to me as "the man in bookkeeping" since the other Bookkeeping employees are women. Personally, I think that
knowing the customers and their needs helps to maintain the "home–town banking" that WCB is well known for around our community and the
surrounding areas. I enjoy speaking with and assisting our customers, many of them I see and know personally around the town. It is nice to establish
these connections

Admissions Essay – An Internship and My Interest in Medicine
How does a hospital run without adequate water to develop X–ray films? What are the signs and symptoms of malaria? What is the most common
cause of infant mortality worldwide? These are all questions to which I learned answers during my six–week clerkship in rural South Africa. That a
well–rounded education is the mark of a true scholar is a belief I acquired from my high–school education, and in that spirit I flew off to try and
understand some of the important issues in the changing South African health care system.
I learned more than I had anticipated was possible and can easily conclude that studying abroad is one of the quickest, most memorable,...show more

Although American physicians tend to be interested in the science and not the administration of health care, the two go hand in hand. In South Africa,
one has the chance to work with and learn from other medical students whose curricula include rotations in health care administration as well as in
scientific study. I feel fortunate that, by studying abroad, I have been formally and practically introduced to some of the politics that influence health
treatments and distribution. I expect that this will likely influence my thinking later in my career as well.
In addition to the influence of politics in health care, I was exposed to the importance of culture. Treatments and etiologies of sexually transmitted
diseases (STDs), HIV/AIDS, and contraception contain cultural components. When working with women about family planning in South Africa, for
example, Depo–Provera shots are the most effective option. The explanation for this lies in the strongly patriarchal and agricultural nature of the
indigenous society. A traditional rural family includes many children (preferably male). With many children, however, nourishment and supervision are
usually insufficient. Consequently, aninterest in contraception has arisen. Although oral contraceptives were available at first, this option led

I had many responsibilities and duties as a teacher assistant/chaperone. Such as arriving at the assigned school for bus and student pick–up at 8:00 a.m.
assisting teachers and counselors with Daily Opening Activity, with Math and Reading as well as Arts/Folklore classes. Escorting students to and from
the bathroom. Supervising students during breakfast and lunch and assisting with clean up. Being responsible for picking up and returning materials to

Apart from that, it would also enhance my scope of getting accepted to a good school for the Masters Degree. In my opinion I have met all of my
objectives and I now have a new perspective on life.
I was able to be successful in this internship because I had to utilize and develop many new skills. I used my interpersonal skills such as: coping
strategies; peer relationships and effective social skills; communication, problem–solving techniques, decision–making, conflict resolution, how to work
in a team, where everyone depends on each other and a lot of patience. I developed many new skills such as multitasking, problem solving/decision
making, and leadership qualities. I learned that I am a role model. It is important to develop a good relationship with students; however, I must keep in
mind that I am expected to behave myself in a professional manner at all times. I also learned some of the important skills of a teacher such as: how to
provide direct instructions, clarify content, teach skills and answer the students questions; help students identify their skills, abilities, and long term
plans regarding education and personal problems.
After I completed my internship I realized I didn't want to become a child psychologist anymore. I was put in a situation in which I had to deal with a
child who was suffering from depression among other psychological problems and was considered to be

It has been a while since I started at the internship and I am really glad I decided to work here. I think the experience in this area is a good preview
of my career and future. I am learning some important skills and finding out some things about myself and the tough skin I will need in order to stay
in the area of juvenile support. One of my responsibilities involved checking the messages from the days before on the office phone. I found that
some of the potential mentors sounded older. This got me wondering about the age limits of the mentors. I knew they had to be at least 18, but was
there an age cap? Could a 30–year–old join the team and be the mentor to a 12–year–old? I though about the different ways that these relationships

parents were in, they said county. It was then my job to break them the bad news and let them know that their child did not qualify for the program.
In my search for organizations that are involved with the system and the families surrounding it, my supervisor referred me to the School District
of Philadelphia alternative schools. These are schools children are transferred to based on behavioral problems. Coming from the school district, I
have already heard of these schools and knew some of the possible places to contact. Although I have previous knowledge, I decided to start at the
school district office to get a list of all the alternative schools. This is where I hit one of the first barriers on my path of recruitment. The school
district gave me the biggest run around, sending me from one office to another, then transferring me to completely different buildings and programs.
No one seemed to have the answer. I wondered why the home office of all the schools did not have a list available of the possible alternative
schools. I then decided to try my search on the internet. I figure, there had to be some sort of list out on the web, but even that was a failed attempt.
All I could find was a list of all the schools that were not regular admissions and I could not decipher the alternative versus the remedial

Internships are a learning experience of new skills and improving on previous skills that you have gained.
I have through the school tours been training to be a docent, but one day in the past two weeks I had official docent training with other students.
Everyone learned the story of the Eel–Stowe and Nathan Clark–Stockade house. Also, we were taught where the lights were in each house, and how to
uncover the windows, objects, and hide the covering before the visitors came to the house. Then we learned how to cover the windows and the objects
once the day was done. We were told some artifacts that young children may handle when they are visiting the houses for the day. Everyone received
schedules and information packets in order to...show more content...
In total there were eight speakers who were trying to help draw more crowds to historical treasures. They encouraged the use of impressive costumes
and trained actors and actresses to make the stories docents tell to be more engaging with the public. They did not encourage the historical societies
and museums to train their own staff for this type of acting. They wanted to keep historical content within an entertainment realm, since everyone
loves a performance. It must be well produced and give a good majority of historical details, but not everything. Thus led to our next few days of
school tours where I tried to keep the program with the kids amusing if I was a docent.
Another school tour I gave the coordinating introduction and led the students to their first station. Then I went to the Eel–Stowe house where I
watched Susan who gave the first tour, and then I helped with the next two groups by doing the two upstairs rooms for the program. I talked about how
the people during colonial times stayed warm in the parent's and kids bedrooms. Once, it was the fourth rotation I watched Tim Chaucer give the tour
of the Indian room to the students. After, I was done for the day I talked to Tim to tour his museum and have an archaeology day with him as part of
my internship. He is an amateur archaeologist. I was coordinator during another school tour. I gave the students the rules of the Milford Historical
Society. During my down time before switching groups I

My Goals For My Internship
My goals for the start for my internship were simple, but quickly evolved. My goals were to gain experience and build my resume, while bringing
the lessons I have learnt in college, and using my skills as an engineer to help the department of public works. Now my goals have become more
specific; I would like to learn more about sewer operations, I would like to develop my computing and design skills using the tools available to the
Hydraulic section and I would like to mature as an engineering professional. While at the hydraulics section, I have access to programs like
MUNSYS, as well as ArcGIS. As an intern, I update and maintain sewer related features on these programs. I would like to learn everything I can to
develop my skills as a designer to help me become a better engineer.
I have learnt from professors as well as other professionals that the key to a successful employee or even a successful person is to have above average
communication skills. As an engineering intern, I would like to develop effective communication skills to help better myself and the team I work with.
I would like to develop my skills in nonverbal communication, an ability to communicate clearly and assertively, and to manage stress in the moment.
On a recent investigation, I learnt the importance of researching thoroughly before communicating the results of your investigation. A big mistake
would be to communicate with a property owner about their surrounding sewer lines without having all the

My Objectives Of My Internship
Before I started my internship, I set out a few learning objectives that has boosted my confidence, knowledge and capability to take on challenges
hands on. One of these objectives was to build a network of connections in the workplace in order to have a chance of getting employed after
graduation. This specific goal turned out to be the easiest objective considering that I was building networks subconsciously through causal as well
as formal interactions. I ended up meeting plenty of people in my company and the companies that were doing business with our firm. However,
the real challenge is keeping in touch with these people and making sure that I don't become a distant memory. Moreover, I wanted to learn how to
asses individual underwriting risks through hands on work or work experience in order to perfect my skills in this specific theoretical concept.
Unfortunately, the work schedule I was assigned was very far from this task, and I realized that the job contained sensitive information of clients and
future clients, therefore only experienced professionals are assigned that type of job. On the other hand, I was successful in learning the technical
skill and application I prescribed for myself. My objective was to learn how to use excel in a professional and...show more content...
With that being said, I realized that the person that has perfected the skills of communication stands out from everybody else because of their ability to
articulate themselves. This skill set would instantly boost an employee's career considering that they automatically become an asset to the company.
Our company does business in Asia, and a few African nations. With that being said, obtaining these interpersonal skills set is crucial to the company's
success because without these relationships, the business would be an average company in the kingdom that will never reach the goals it sets for

During the summer of 2015, I interned at a local doctor's office. My passion for working in the medical field grew tremendously. I absolutely loved
the experience I received and I also got offered a job after the internship was completed. Even though I was unable to accept the job offer because of
furthering my education and because of my current job, I knew my hard work and dedication had paid off. I believe my education and the
experience I received has provided me with a phenomenal introduction to the heath care field. I interned as a Medical Assistant and received my

Internship Reflection
Wow...Midterms already! I cannot believe how time is flying by. Just like that we are now half way done with this semester and I been at
internship for two months already. I am happy for the opportunity I am having at internship, but at the same time I wish I could pause time or slow
down time. I feel that every day it is going so fast that I can barely breath, blink, and rest, as I feel I am always rushing. I am even seeing my
granddaughter grow too fast, which makes me wish I could have more time with her. Coming into this semester I thought that I would be easy as
we are done with our thesis, nonetheless, I feel it is the opposite. I feel that we have a lot of work going one. Therefore, I feel more tired and at
times overwhelmed with the limited time I have available in my days. A good example, is today I am writing this paper, it is midnight, and I just ate
my dinner. I know this is not good self–care but to keep up with internship, school, and work paperwork, there are nights I sacrifice by working on
assignments late. I even feel the difference now that we are required to do twenty hours of internship but I know this is a scarifies to my end goal,
which, is completing the master's program. There are nights where I am even sleeping less than five hours. Hereafter, I will just have to continue to
push myself to continue to complete this semester and do my best at school and internships. I have to also incorporate self–care as I have noticed a
difference when I apply

Please comment on how you took steps to achieve the goals you set at the beginning of your internship.
Organization was the most important tool that allowed me to reach my goals throughout this internship. Meeting with my supervisor on a weekly basis
and having my all ideas, thoughts and assignments organized made the process much simpler. Being prepared allowed me to better communicate my
thoughts and opinions when my input was needed or when I had questions. This communication was important because It made learning from my
superiors simple. I was also able to clearly understand my role and responsibilities in all our projects, giving me the benefit of having a clear Idea of
what I needed to do to be successful in them. This preparation allowed me to reach the goals I set for myself at the begging of this internship.
Start by summarizing the specific skills/knowledge/strengths (minimum of 3) you set out to develop through your internship experience:
1. I wanted to learn how to organize and micro manage the day to day operations of a small business.
2. I wanted to strengthen my networking skills and add new contacts to them.
3. I wanted to help create and implement different marketing strategies for the company.
What specific responsibilities/projects did you work on to achieve the skills/knowledge/strengths you wanted to develop?
I worked with the study edge marketing team, where we worked on projects that aimed to find and retain new Study Edge members. I helped
organize and participated in tabling events around campus, where we invited students to play games, win prizes and learn more about Study Edge.
Planning these events taught me a lot about what it takes to run a successful marketing project. Things such as how to develop and reach a specific
target audience, how to approaches and present our information to said audience, and how crucial planning out all the details of events are so that
we're prepared for any situation, should something unexpected happen. I was also part of the team that helped organize our Study Edge members
summer party. All our members were invited to come out and enjoy free drinks and food, while meeting all the Study Edge employees and study
experts. This

Internship Final Paper : Internship
INTERNSHIP FINAL PAPER Internships are extraordinary opportunities to learn and grow. Internships are mostly designed to expand the depth and
the breadth of the academic learning in the particular areas of the study. Internship is an opportunity to receive experience in applying all formulas,
methods, theories in the classroom to specific experiences in the real world and to see how it actually works. I had set some goals for my internship–
to earn experience from it, to earn 3 credits from it, to learn to work in the team, to gain confidence, and gain valuable understanding of the accounting
field and will be able to better grasp the things how my coursework is preparing me to enter my chosen career and to strengthen my CV. An internship
can also heighten the awareness of community issues, motivates to create opportunities, embrace new ideas, and give direction to positive change. A
successful internship can provide valuable information in making decisions about the direction of future studies or employment. An internship is an
opportunity to not only use and develop industry–related knowledge and skills, but also to enhance some of the skills that are transferable to any
professional work setting. For some people, the internship is the first introduction to the world of work. No matter where the skills and understanding
of professionalism lie, internship is a chance to develop them even further. My internship at McKlein Company, Chicago as an Accounts Executive has

When I discussed these topics with Sarah, she did a great job of actively listening to me and placed no judgment on the statements I made. If she needed

Her ability to listen, not pass judgments, and respect my feelings contributed to her effectiveness as a counselor, and increased my willingness to be

Also, Sarah's ability to provide me with alternatives and the opportunity to change my way of thinking, contributed to her effectiveness, while helping

INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
Internship is an opportunity offered by various companies to potential students or candidates, called as "interns", to work in the firm for a limited or
fixed time period. Internship offers students lot of exposure to the practical world and provides practical experiences in the industry relating to their
field of study. This becomes a valuable experience as it allows us to understand how our studies are applied in the "real world", and it gives a good
picture for our Curriculum Vitae`.
Internships can also be called as job training for professional careers. Internships generally, consists exchange of ideas and services for experience
between students and organizations. Some interns find permanent, paid programme with the organizations for which they worked. This gives a benefit
to the employer as they do not have to search for a new employee, as the interns are trained previously and they are less demanding. Internship
experiences provide the opportunity to apply classroom theories into the real world, thus it enhances the student's academic and their career goals.
Internships in India are career specific, college and school students often choose internships based on the branch of study at their University. Internships

Internship Reflection - Finance Career Insights from Wayne County Bank

  • 1. Internship Reflection Essay My Reflection: I have been very lucky to complete an internship with Wayne County Bank this summer. It was a rewarding experience and I have gained valuable knowledge that will be beneficial to me as I continue to pursue my career in Finance. Growing up in a small town with a bank that truly serves our community is inspiring. As a high school student, I volunteered to help WCB in any way needed at the Relay for Life or any other activity they hosted. The work day in the Bookkeeping department begins at 8 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. except on Fridays when we close an hour later for customer convenience. First thing in the morning we sort the internal reports that print before we arrive and give them to the employee that will use the ...show more content... These returns are put with a copy of the original item and sent to the mailing address we have on the customer file. They will then be processed with all the other mail to go to the Post Office at the end of the day. Some of our business customers have requested that they receive a fax ofthe return as soon as it is processed so that they may take the appropriate actions on their end. The biggest part of my job was answering all the customer phone calls. At any point in the day, a customer might call to ask about their account. I answer the phone and assist the customer with anything they need. Customers usually want to know their current balance or if a check has entered their account yet, but sometimes they want to know about the last few transactions so I go over those and give them the information they are requesting. Many of the same customers call frequently so I began recognizing their voices and they started referring to me as "the man in bookkeeping" since the other Bookkeeping employees are women. Personally, I think that knowing the customers and their needs helps to maintain the "home–town banking" that WCB is well known for around our community and the surrounding areas. I enjoy speaking with and assisting our customers, many of them I see and know personally around the town. It is nice to establish these connections Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Admissions Essay – An Internship and My Interest in Medicine How does a hospital run without adequate water to develop X–ray films? What are the signs and symptoms of malaria? What is the most common cause of infant mortality worldwide? These are all questions to which I learned answers during my six–week clerkship in rural South Africa. That a well–rounded education is the mark of a true scholar is a belief I acquired from my high–school education, and in that spirit I flew off to try and understand some of the important issues in the changing South African health care system. I learned more than I had anticipated was possible and can easily conclude that studying abroad is one of the quickest, most memorable,...show more content... Although American physicians tend to be interested in the science and not the administration of health care, the two go hand in hand. In South Africa, one has the chance to work with and learn from other medical students whose curricula include rotations in health care administration as well as in scientific study. I feel fortunate that, by studying abroad, I have been formally and practically introduced to some of the politics that influence health treatments and distribution. I expect that this will likely influence my thinking later in my career as well. In addition to the influence of politics in health care, I was exposed to the importance of culture. Treatments and etiologies of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), HIV/AIDS, and contraception contain cultural components. When working with women about family planning in South Africa, for example, Depo–Provera shots are the most effective option. The explanation for this lies in the strongly patriarchal and agricultural nature of the indigenous society. A traditional rural family includes many children (preferably male). With many children, however, nourishment and supervision are usually insufficient. Consequently, aninterest in contraception has arisen. Although oral contraceptives were available at first, this option led

  • 4. internship Essay examples I had many responsibilities and duties as a teacher assistant/chaperone. Such as arriving at the assigned school for bus and student pick–up at 8:00 a.m. assisting teachers and counselors with Daily Opening Activity, with Math and Reading as well as Arts/Folklore classes. Escorting students to and from the bathroom. Supervising students during breakfast and lunch and assisting with clean up. Being responsible for picking up and returning materials to the GEAR UP office. Attending weekly Staff and Team meetings to discuss the past week and plan for the weeks ahead. This internship opened many doors leading to my future. This would not only help me academically and financially, but would also provide me with ...show more content... Apart from that, it would also enhance my scope of getting accepted to a good school for the Masters Degree. In my opinion I have met all of my objectives and I now have a new perspective on life. I was able to be successful in this internship because I had to utilize and develop many new skills. I used my interpersonal skills such as: coping strategies; peer relationships and effective social skills; communication, problem–solving techniques, decision–making, conflict resolution, how to work in a team, where everyone depends on each other and a lot of patience. I developed many new skills such as multitasking, problem solving/decision making, and leadership qualities. I learned that I am a role model. It is important to develop a good relationship with students; however, I must keep in mind that I am expected to behave myself in a professional manner at all times. I also learned some of the important skills of a teacher such as: how to provide direct instructions, clarify content, teach skills and answer the students questions; help students identify their skills, abilities, and long term plans regarding education and personal problems. After I completed my internship I realized I didn't want to become a child psychologist anymore. I was put in a situation in which I had to deal with a child who was suffering from depression among other psychological problems and was considered to be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Internship Reflection Essay example It has been a while since I started at the internship and I am really glad I decided to work here. I think the experience in this area is a good preview of my career and future. I am learning some important skills and finding out some things about myself and the tough skin I will need in order to stay in the area of juvenile support. One of my responsibilities involved checking the messages from the days before on the office phone. I found that some of the potential mentors sounded older. This got me wondering about the age limits of the mentors. I knew they had to be at least 18, but was there an age cap? Could a 30–year–old join the team and be the mentor to a 12–year–old? I though about the different ways that these relationships ...show more content... They gave me the basic idea of what was going on with them and how the family could use the support. At this point when I asked what prison the parents were in, they said county. It was then my job to break them the bad news and let them know that their child did not qualify for the program. In my search for organizations that are involved with the system and the families surrounding it, my supervisor referred me to the School District of Philadelphia alternative schools. These are schools children are transferred to based on behavioral problems. Coming from the school district, I have already heard of these schools and knew some of the possible places to contact. Although I have previous knowledge, I decided to start at the school district office to get a list of all the alternative schools. This is where I hit one of the first barriers on my path of recruitment. The school district gave me the biggest run around, sending me from one office to another, then transferring me to completely different buildings and programs. No one seemed to have the answer. I wondered why the home office of all the schools did not have a list available of the possible alternative schools. I then decided to try my search on the internet. I figure, there had to be some sort of list out on the web, but even that was a failed attempt. All I could find was a list of all the schools that were not regular admissions and I could not decipher the alternative versus the remedial Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Essay on Internship Reflection Internships are a learning experience of new skills and improving on previous skills that you have gained. I have through the school tours been training to be a docent, but one day in the past two weeks I had official docent training with other students. Everyone learned the story of the Eel–Stowe and Nathan Clark–Stockade house. Also, we were taught where the lights were in each house, and how to uncover the windows, objects, and hide the covering before the visitors came to the house. Then we learned how to cover the windows and the objects once the day was done. We were told some artifacts that young children may handle when they are visiting the houses for the day. Everyone received schedules and information packets in order to...show more content... In total there were eight speakers who were trying to help draw more crowds to historical treasures. They encouraged the use of impressive costumes and trained actors and actresses to make the stories docents tell to be more engaging with the public. They did not encourage the historical societies and museums to train their own staff for this type of acting. They wanted to keep historical content within an entertainment realm, since everyone loves a performance. It must be well produced and give a good majority of historical details, but not everything. Thus led to our next few days of school tours where I tried to keep the program with the kids amusing if I was a docent. Another school tour I gave the coordinating introduction and led the students to their first station. Then I went to the Eel–Stowe house where I watched Susan who gave the first tour, and then I helped with the next two groups by doing the two upstairs rooms for the program. I talked about how the people during colonial times stayed warm in the parent's and kids bedrooms. Once, it was the fourth rotation I watched Tim Chaucer give the tour of the Indian room to the students. After, I was done for the day I talked to Tim to tour his museum and have an archaeology day with him as part of my internship. He is an amateur archaeologist. I was coordinator during another school tour. I gave the students the rules of the Milford Historical Society. During my down time before switching groups I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My Goals For My Internship My goals for the start for my internship were simple, but quickly evolved. My goals were to gain experience and build my resume, while bringing the lessons I have learnt in college, and using my skills as an engineer to help the department of public works. Now my goals have become more specific; I would like to learn more about sewer operations, I would like to develop my computing and design skills using the tools available to the Hydraulic section and I would like to mature as an engineering professional. While at the hydraulics section, I have access to programs like MUNSYS, as well as ArcGIS. As an intern, I update and maintain sewer related features on these programs. I would like to learn everything I can to develop my skills as a designer to help me become a better engineer. I have learnt from professors as well as other professionals that the key to a successful employee or even a successful person is to have above average communication skills. A big mistake would be to communicate with a property owner about their surrounding sewer lines without having all the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. My Objectives Of My Internship Before I started my internship, I set out a few learning objectives that has boosted my confidence, knowledge and capability to take on challenges hands on. One of these objectives was to build a network of connections in the workplace in order to have a chance of getting employed after graduation. This specific goal turned out to be the easiest objective considering that I was building networks subconsciously through causal as well as formal interactions. I ended up meeting plenty of people in my company and the companies that were doing business with our firm. However, the real challenge is keeping in touch with these people and making sure that I don't become a distant memory. Moreover, I wanted to learn how to asses individual underwriting risks through hands on work or work experience in order to perfect my skills in this specific theoretical concept. Unfortunately, the work schedule I was assigned was very far from this task, and I realized that the job contained sensitive information of clients and future clients, therefore only experienced professionals are assigned that type of job. On the other hand, I was successful in learning the technical skill and application I prescribed for myself. My objective was to learn how to use excel in a professional and...show more content... With that being said, I realized that the person that has perfected the skills of communication stands out from everybody else because of their ability to articulate themselves. This skill set would instantly boost an employee's career considering that they automatically become an asset to the company. Our company does business in Asia, and a few African nations. With that being said, obtaining these interpersonal skills set is crucial to the company's success because without these relationships, the business would be an average company in the kingdom that will never reach the goals it sets for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Essay On My Internship As A Medical Assistant During the summer of 2015, I interned at a local doctor's office. My passion for working in the medical field grew tremendously. I absolutely loved the experience I received and I also got offered a job after the internship was completed. Even though I was unable to accept the job offer because of furthering my education and because of my current job, I knew my hard work and dedication had paid off. I believe my education and the experience I received has provided me with a phenomenal introduction to the heath care field. I interned as a Medical Assistant and received my Associate's in Applied Science Degree in Medical Assisting in December of 2015. I knew that receiving this degree was only the beginning. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I wanted to have a better...show more content... After extensive research, I came to the conclusion that the University of North Carolina at Greensboro was the best school for me. I am transferring to receive my Bachelor's degree in Public Health. The University of North Carolina at Greensboro offers an amazing program in Public Health, which is completely online. The Bachelor's degree in Public Health is a program designed to receive your degree by completing courses at home. I am eager to learn all of the material required for me to be successful in the career of my choice. My ultimate career after receiving the Public Health degree is to become a Medical and Health Services Manager. I hope to achieve this goal and make my family proud. Even though I will not be physically attending the university, I love the diversity of the university and the surrounding area. I have visited the university many times and the people are always nice and helpful. I hope to communicate with classmates via email and become a more sociable person. • 10. Internship Reflection Wow...Midterms already! I cannot believe how time is flying by. Just like that we are now half way done with this semester and I been at internship for two months already. I am happy for the opportunity I am having at internship, but at the same time I wish I could pause time or slow down time. I feel that every day it is going so fast that I can barely breath, blink, and rest, as I feel I am always rushing. I am even seeing my granddaughter grow too fast, which makes me wish I could have more time with her. Coming into this semester I thought that I would be easy as we are done with our thesis, nonetheless, I feel it is the opposite. I feel that we have a lot of work going one. Therefore, I feel more tired and at times overwhelmed with the limited time I have available in my days. A good example, is today I am writing this paper, it is midnight, and I just ate my dinner. I know this is not good self–care but to keep up with internship, school, and work paperwork, there are nights I sacrifice by working on assignments late. I even feel the difference now that we are required to do twenty hours of internship but I know this is a scarifies to my end goal, which, is completing the master's program. There are nights where I am even sleeping less than five hours. Hereafter, I will just have to continue to push myself to continue to complete this semester and do my best at school and internships. I have to also incorporate self–care as I have noticed a difference when I apply Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Internship Reflection Please comment on how you took steps to achieve the goals you set at the beginning of your internship. Organization was the most important tool that allowed me to reach my goals throughout this internship. Meeting with my supervisor on a weekly basis and having my all ideas, thoughts and assignments organized made the process much simpler. Being prepared allowed me to better communicate my thoughts and opinions when my input was needed or when I had questions. This communication was important because It made learning from my superiors simple. I was also able to clearly understand my role and responsibilities in all our projects, giving me the benefit of having a clear Idea of what I needed to do to be successful in them. This preparation allowed me to reach the goals I set for myself at the begging of this internship. Start by summarizing the specific skills/knowledge/strengths (minimum of 3) you set out to develop through your internship experience: 1. I helped organize and participated in tabling events around campus, where we invited students to play games, win prizes and learn more about Study Edge. Things such as how to develop and reach a specific target audience, how to approaches and present our information to said audience, and how crucial planning out all the details of events are so that we're prepared for any situation, should something unexpected happen. I was also part of the team that helped organize our Study Edge members summer party. All our members were invited to come out and enjoy free drinks and food, while meeting all the Study Edge employees and study experts. This

Upon beginning my counseling sessions at the student counseling center, I was unsure of what I would experience as a client, unsure of how I would react or what I would disclose during the sessions, and I was nervous about participating in counseling sessions. Throughout the six...show more content... When I discussed these topics with Sarah, she did a great job of actively listening to me and placed no judgment on the statements I made. If she needed clarification on the information I provided to her, she did not hesitate to ask questions or summarize my statements, to ensure she heard the correct message. Her ability to listen, not pass judgments, and respect my feelings contributed to her effectiveness as a counselor, and increased my willingness to be open with her. There were times during our sessions, when I felt some of her suggestions did not match up with my personality or personal experiences; however, her respect for my personal experiences and worldview emphasized her understanding abilities, and interest in my worldview. Also, Sarah's ability to provide me with alternatives and the opportunity to change my way of thinking, contributed to her effectiveness, while helping me resolve concerns more efficiently. Prior to learning about the three core conditions for establishing a positive therapeutic relationship, I was unable to draw direct conclusions about the attitudes Sarah displayed during our sessions.
