如今,关于「互联网汽车」的讨论大都集中在车载操作系统• • • • • •
上。有许多互联网公司已经推出了实验性的产品。
Nowadays, most efforts were putting into smart OS for car
when we talk about Internet + Car. Many internet companies
have released experimental products in this area.
Apple CarPlay 将自己定位成 iPhone 的延伸,是一种更好的在汽车内享受 iPhone 功能或服务的方式。其列
举的主要功能除了导航与驾驶相关,其他如接打电话、收发信息、听音乐等则更靠近手机的使用场景,而
不是汽车。并且,这些场景在很多传统的汽车里已经被满足了。
Apple CarPlay describes itself as a smarter, safer way to use your iPhone in the car. Except for getting
directions, other features including making calls, receiving messages and listening to music is more
about phone experience than car experience.
CarPlay 是 iOS 的一个功能,它只不过是让汽车成为了又一个使用应用商店里万千 apps 的智能设备。因
此,要使用 CarPlay,你必须拥有一部 iPhone 手机。汽车,在这样的场景下,成为了智能手机的附属,就
像耳机、音箱一样,是「二等公民」。
CarPlay is an iOS feature. It makes the car yet another device that uses apps from the App Store. As a
result, you must own an iPhone to use CarPlay. The car becomes an extension of the iPhone, just like
earphones and speakers. It treats the car as a 2nd class citizen.
Android Auto 也没有什么不同。在它的官网上,描述的更为直白 – 「当你把安卓手机连接到汽车上
时,车载显示器会展示你的安卓应用」。看到了吗?它只是把汽车当做了一个外接显示器而已。当然,
app 的信息展示会根据屏幕尺寸以及驾驶场景进行调整,但本质上,汽车仍是手机的附属。
Android Auto is no different. It described it more plainly: When you connect your Android phone
to the vehicle, Android Auto will display applications on the vehicle’s screen. See? the car is just
a monitor for display apps.
The information display are optimised for the screen size and the specific use scenario (driving)
for sure. In its nature, however, the car is still treated as an extension of the phone.
YunOS(阿里巴巴基于安卓系统研发)更进了一步。它不再把自己限制在智能手机上,而是可以安装
在多种专为汽车设计的导航仪上。除了常见的功能,如导航、听音乐之外,它还尝试「真正的」与汽
车进行交互。例如,它可以展示汽车目前行驶的里程数,或者与后视镜集成来展示汽车背后的路况。
YunOS (Android-based, made by Alibaba) took one step further to not limit itself to a phone. It
can be installed on various devices designed for car.
And besides the normal use cases such as getting directions, music, and so on, it tries to actually
interact with the car. For example, it displays the current mileage. Or it can integrate with the
rear view mirror to display real-time road condition behind the car.
Tesla 基于 Linux 自主研发了其汽车搭载的操作系统。Tesla OS 与前述三者核心的区别是明显的,它
不再是一个汽车之外的东西,它就是汽车本身。Tesla OS 的核心功能包括了:
・ 图形界面展示在一个17英寸的触摸屏上
・ 可以控制车灯、车门、空调、悬挂、能源消耗等
・ 导航、多媒体播放、电话、接入互联网、web 浏览器等
Tesla built an OS based on Linux and NVIDIA. The core difference between Tesla OS and the
previous three – it does not work WITH the car’s own OS, it IS the car’s own OS.
Highlights of this OS:
• The GUI is displayed on a 17’’ touchscreen display (WOW!)
• It controls the lights, doors, A/C, energy, suspension, etc.
• Navigation, media, phones, internet connectivity, web browser, etc.

Cars are not consumer electronics yet
Cars are not consumer electronics. People own a car longer than owning a phone. People use it for a
very specific and clear purpose — moving from one place to another. Traditional car makers focus on
safety, energy efficiency, appearance and so on. It’s necessary to take a step back and look at it at a
higher level when we talk about Internet + Car.
不同于手机,人们对汽车的保有时间更长,使用其的目的更为专一、明确:从一个地方移动到另一个地方。
长久以来,汽车制造者的关注的是安全、节能、动力、外观等因素,引入互联网因素后,有必要考虑人与

Future of transportation
The utility part of people’s needs for a car is transportation. If we rephrase the questions to: how can
we design a better system (software, hardware, infrastructure) to make transportation better? We’ll
end up with more exciting ideas. Cars may end up not in these ideas at all.
人使用汽车的诉求里,除了将其当做奢侈品之外,「效用」的部分只是为了交通,也就是常说的「代步工
具」。那么除了汽车,是否可以有更好的系统(软件、设施、硬件)可以解决人的这个诉求?汽车在这个
图景里也许不再存在?

Internet of Things: What does the machine want?
In the slide Bigger Ecosystem, I’ve covered topics of IoT (Internet of Things). People today are making
devices smarter and smarter. If good design is natural, good design should find the grain of the
material and let it grow, we need to answer, as designers, the question — what does the machines
want?
在「更大的生态系统」那张幻灯片里,已经触及到了「物联网」的领域。人类在利用科技让各种设备变得
「智能」。如果好的设计是「自然的」,是试图发现事物的纹理,并帮助其自然生长。那么,机器究竟想

Tesla 基于 Linux 自主研发了其汽车搭载的操作系统。Tesla OS 与前述三者核心的区别是明显的,它 不再是一个汽车之外的东西,它就是汽车本身。Tesla OS 的核心功能包括了: ・ 图形界面展示在一个17英寸的触摸屏上 ・ 可以控制车灯、车门、空调、悬挂、能源消耗等 ・ 导航、多媒体播放、电话、接入互联网、web 浏览器等 Tesla built an OS based on Linux and NVIDIA. The core difference between Tesla OS and the previous three – it does not work WITH the car’s own OS, it IS the car’s own OS. If we rephrase the questions to: how can we design a better system (software, hardware, infrastructure) to make transportation better? We’ll end up with more exciting ideas. Cars may end up not in these ideas at all. 人使用汽车的诉求里,除了将其当做奢侈品之外,「效用」的部分只是为了交通,也就是常说的「代步工 具」。那么除了汽车,是否可以有更好的系统(软件、设施、硬件)可以解决人的这个诉求?汽车在这个 图景里也许不再存在?
