Impact of International Student Enrollment on US Gross Domestic Product
The goal of this paper is to analyze the impact of international student enrollments on the US real gross domestic product. It is hypothesized that an increase in international student enrollment tends to have a positive impact on US real gross domestic product. It is also hypothesized that an increase in economic impact of international students has a positive impact on the US real gross domestic product. A regression model is formulated that consists of percentage increase in real gross domestic product (economic growth rate) as the dependent variable. The independent variables used in the regression model are annual percentage increase in international student enrollments in the US and the annual percentage increase in economic impact of the international students in the US. Data is collected from 2009 to 2015 from the Bureau of Economic Analysis and NAFSA. It is important to analyze the rationale as to why highly skilled immigration is vital for promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation in the US economy. The current administration is trying to undermine the positive impact of highly skilled immigration on the US economy. The issue is critically important in the prevailing political climate in the US economy. An attempt is also made to formulate strategies that would help in mitigating negative outcomes such as potential declines in revenues for US universities as well as decline in research and grant funding that would arise due to decrease in international student enrolments.

This study examined peace and security as a veritable instrument for the achievement of sustainable development goals in Nigeria using qualitative method of data analysis and content analysis. The study relied on data from extant literature to posit that sustainable development is attainable only when peace and security of the nation is assured. The study argued that tenable and sustainable development is possible. This assertion is evident in sustained growth and development of most developed and emerging economies of the world. Examples are the developed and emerging economies of America, Europe and Asia. In Nigeria, the near absence of relative peace and the consequent threat to security of lives and properties have affected every aspect of growth and development in the country. This situation has flourished in the light of the dynamics of political instability and its concomitant outcomes. The threat to peace and security of the nation have taken several dimensions of urban violence including ethno religious violence, electoral violence, youth militancy, and civil unrest, Boko Haram, farmers herders crisis, banditry, kidnapping etc. thus, undermining the attainment of significant achievement of the Millennium Development Goals MDGs in Nigeria. A situation that leaves great negative consequences for the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals SDGs . The study concludes that the Federal Government should seriously address all security challenges in the nation. Both carrot and stick are required in addressing the various issues that threaten peace and security in the nation. Where force is seen as the best option to address a particular issue, force should be applied. However, where negotiation and ceding of necessary grounds is adjudged the best option, they should be applied. Issues of population explosion has evoked several images characterized by
emotional, value-laden and often paranoiac connotation that cannot be obviously
ignored considering its threatening challenges. It is against the foregoing that this
paper attempt to interrogate the relevance of Thomas Malthus theory on population and
the challenges of the bourgeoning population explosion in Nigeria. The core objective
of this paper is to investigate the relevance of the theory on Nigeria’s population. Other
objectives are to ascertain the effects of the population explosion on the Nigerian urban
areas; food security, crimes and security and poverty. In terms of methodology, the
paper relies on an explanatory design and some empirical data generated through
secondary sources and official documents were examined. The data were analysed using
a descriptive method of analysis. The paper identified the relevance of Malthus theory
on the bourgeoning population explosion on the following key areas: Food Security;
Poverty Rate; Urbanization; crimes and Security Threat. After examination of official
documents and secondary data, the paper concludes that population explosion has
continued to undermine the achievement of development’s goals in Nigeria. A

The paper covers immigration reforms and the various aspect it brings to society. The argument that supports immigration and the benefits it brings to society is outlined in the paper also the counterarguments, the fallacies related to immigration, and the way people take these fallacies about immigration. The bias that is related to the cultural and social difference between natives and immigrants is also pointed out in the report. The rhetorical devices that are related to immigration have been used by our leaders to help us understand immigration from a different perspective.
Introduction
Immigration possesses an ongoing debate where people are concerned if immigration is beneficial or not to society. This paper will be examining the benefits and counterarguments concerning immigration. Immigration can be beneficial in society if it is well accepted within the different communities and ethnic groups in the country. These arguments about immigration have led to the change in policies regarding immigration making it difficult to gain access to certain countries. This is due to fear and the misunderstanding that is brought by people in society. The fallacies related to immigration are the various factors that will be discussed in this report.
Those in favor of immigration have the belief that immigration has enriched the culture of the host nation or society and has provided numerous benefits to the overall country. Immigration leads to cross-cultural integration this is through the increase of ethnic variety within a society. The increase in diversity helps in increasing and improving the society as well as improving learning in individuals (Richards, 2018). This also means there is an increase in skill development, this is where there is a learning opportunity for people to interact and get to understand the difference in how things are done in various cultures. This helps one adjust their ways of operation to be able to fit in the society. Immigration can be beneficial because there will be an improvement in tax payment within the country that will lead to an increase in wages increase.

My research proposal is about immigrants. Immigrants are people who leave their native country in order to seek a better future for them in a foreign country. In most cases, immigrants move from impoverished to developed countries. There are many reasons why immigrants decide to leave their home for a new one; these reasons include unemployment, civil war, political persecution, famine, among others. Some immigrants seek new countries on a temporary basis until they can build up finances and move back home while others move with an aim of setting up a permanent residence in their new country. Immigrants face many challenges in the course of their migration, if they cannot afford an air ticket they have to brave perilous traveling by vehicle or by ocean and once at their destination they have to contend with hostility from the citizens. We have to be sensitive to the plight of the immigrants, in order to make the world a better place.
Immigration is a force that has defined the United States of America and is continuing to mold our nation until now. In the seventeenth century, America experienced a wave of immigration from the European nations of Ireland, Italy, and Germany. These immigrants provided a boost to the economy of America, they provided cheap labor for the industries and established many enterprises some of which are present up to today. The nation of America, Canada and other European nations still experience heavy immigration into their borders (Hogarth, 2015).
In America’s election year, immigration is one of the hot topics debated by the presidential candidates. Politicians are prone to sugarcoating, and stating falsehoods in order to satisfy their agenda, it is important to research on immigrants in order to have a strong foothold of the facts of the matter (Shapiro & Vellucci, 2010). Furthermore, being more knowledgeable about immigrants will enable us to construct better policy that adequately addresses the issue of immigration rather than just deporting them, when they have sacrificed so much to make it to their new home.
I am interested in immigrants and immigration because it is one of the forces continuously shaping the world. It is the nature of man to seek always a better future. In the past, the forces that pushed immigration were famine and war, during famine people moved to productive areas, during war people moved to peaceful lands (Grikorenko, 2007). The main cause of immigration now is unemployment and better wages. It pays to understand the impact that immigrants have on their home countries and the nations where they set up new homes, knowing this will help to stem the tide of anti-immigrant sentiments .

Illegal immigration is one of the abused issues in the United States. The issue is of great concern as it not only changes the economic, cultural, but also the social aspect of the nation of concern. Immigration has been wrongly used in the political arenas as political leaders strive to throw their weight around while portraying their competitors how better they are. To the citizenry, immigrants increase competition in the already scarce employment opportunities. Immigrants cheaply provide easily accessible labor hence being preferred over the hosts of the country. On the other hand, they increase competition on available social amenities such as education and health care, hence at times referred to as a burden to the economy. People migrate while escaping wars and natural calamities such as hunger.
In contrast, others move illegally following societal ills such as human trafficking, where they end up in social evils such as prostitution. Whether migrating through the right or wrong channels, deportation has far-reaching effects, especially with the involvement of parents. Right measures should be implemented in dealing with the issue of deportation.
Granting amnesty is one of the options that could be explored in dealing with the deportation of parents. Amnesty entails the granting of a formal legal status to individuals with an illegal residence in a country and is awaiting deportation. The issue of amnesty among immigrants is received with mixed reactions. While some political leaders use the amnesty programs as a means of benefiting themselves, the citizens of the country view the move as a means of suppressing their access to resources. According to Levy (2010), people in support of an amnesty program among the illegal migrants view the deportation of illegal immigrants as being an impractical move. The deportation process is hectic for both the officials and the involved parties. Levy (2010) noted that the deportation process is time-consuming, requires a lot of effort, and is labor-intensive.
The country would have to incur additional costs in trying to correct a situation created by people who failed to take their jobs seriously. Also, it is not a guarantee that all illegal immigrants would be successfully deported as some may escape detection, which means that the government goes through all that trouble for nothing. Instead, the government should use the challenge of illegal immigrants to its advantage. Numerous low-skilled employment positions are unfilled because Americans cannot fill the positions, despite being crucial to the nation's economy. The country stands to benefit more with the illegal immigrants given amnesty as opposed to when there are deported. Levy (2010) added that the legalization of immigrants through ac.

I am interested in immigrants and immigration because it is one of the forces continuously shaping the world. It is the nature of man to seek always a better future. In the past, the forces that pushed immigration were famine and war, during famine people moved to productive areas, during war people moved to peaceful lands (Grikorenko, 2007). The main cause of immigration now is unemployment and better wages. It pays to understand the impact that immigrants have on their home countries and the nations where they set up new homes, knowing this will help to stem the tide of anti-immigrant sentiments .

Illegal immigration is one of the abused issues in the United States. The issue is of great concern as it not only changes the economic, cultural, but also the social aspect of the nation of concern. Immigration has been wrongly used in the political arenas as political leaders strive to throw their weight around while portraying their competitors how better they are. To the citizenry, immigrants increase competition in the already scarce employment opportunities. Immigrants cheaply provide easily accessible labor hence being preferred over the hosts of the country. On the other hand, they increase competition on available social amenities such as education and health care, hence at times referred to as a burden to the economy. People migrate while escaping wars and natural calamities such as hunger.
In contrast, others move illegally following societal ills such as human trafficking, where they end up in social evils such as prostitution. Whether migrating through the right or wrong channels, deportation has far-reaching effects, especially with the involvement of parents. Right measures should be implemented in dealing with the issue of deportation.
Granting amnesty is one of the options that could be explored in dealing with the deportation of parents. Amnesty entails the granting of a formal legal status to individuals with an illegal residence in a country and is awaiting deportation. The issue of amnesty among immigrants is received with mixed reactions. While some political leaders use the amnesty programs as a means of benefiting themselves, the citizens of the country view the move as a means of suppressing their access to resources. According to Levy (2010), people in support of an amnesty program among the illegal migrants view the deportation of illegal immigrants as being an impractical move. The deportation process is hectic for both the officials and the involved parties. Levy (2010) noted that the deportation process is time-consuming, requires a lot of effort, and is labor-intensive.
The country would have to incur additional costs in trying to correct a situation created by people who failed to take their jobs seriously. Also, it is not a guarantee that all illegal immigrants would be successfully deported as some may escape detection, which means that the government goes through all that trouble for nothing. Instead, the government should use the challenge of illegal immigrants to its advantage. Numerous low-skilled employment positions are unfilled because Americans cannot fill the positions, despite being crucial to the nation's economy. The country stands to benefit more with the illegal immigrants given amnesty as opposed to when there are deported. Levy (2010) added that the legalization of immigrants through ac.

The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
