International human resource management involves managing the manpower, organization, and industry of a multinational company operating in foreign countries. It is responsible for solving human resource issues in a company's foreign subsidiaries. IHRM must manage three types of employees: host country nationals (HCNs) who work in their home country for the company; parent country nationals (PCNs) who are expatriates working abroad for the company; and third country nationals (TCNs) who are contracted personnel from neither the home nor host country. The function of IHRM is to manage these three employee categories efficiently and ensure they work well together to achieve the company's goals.
