This document discusses the dynamics of cross-border healthcare in Europe. It outlines the various treaties, regulations, and agreements that have shaped the European context since the 1960s. It then examines the Euregios cross-border regions, which cover 15% of the EU territory and 10% of the population. Case studies show experiments in cross-border mobility for healthcare, including numbers of patients and services used. There are divergences between countries in social models and healthcare systems, but also convergences driven by EU rulings. Perspectives discussed include relaxing cross-border arrangements and expanding access, with support from EU authorities needed to further develop cross-border healthcare initiatives.
