This document provides an overview of the history and development of Instagram. It discusses:
1) Instagram was founded in 2010 by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, inspired by instant photo sharing through Polaroid pictures.
2) It grew rapidly, releasing features like hashtags in 2011 and being acquired by Facebook for $1 billion in 2012.
