Editor's Notes
How does Connecting U compare to previous strategic periods?
- Innovation as assignment (2000-2005)- establishing the UMC Utrecht after merger between the ‘Academisch Ziekenhuis Utrecht’, the ‘Medische Faculteit Utrecht’ and the ‘WKZ’.
- Knowledge for care, care for knowledge (2005-2010), was aimed at profiling the UMC Utrecht as a public institute of knowledge. Investments in research and infrastructure
- Strategy 3.0 (2010-2015) was about making choices: multidisciplinary focus to be able to excel and significantly improve patient care.
- The current strategy, Connecting U, builds on this foundation. The focus areas remain the same but the connection with patients and stakeholders will be much stronger. Besides that we make sure that the developments (knowledge & technology) in the focus areas are actually put into practise quickly.
