Designers at the Intermedia Lab at Seoul National University created information visualizations to help the public better understand and engage with sustainability issues like global warming, organic agriculture, energy use, and land development. They visualized the complex relationships between different factors in these issues to make the information more intuitive and interesting to understand. The goal was to use design to help communicate socially important issues and potential solutions in engaging ways.

2. Context : The global interest is focusing on the solution to overcome the environmental change as a result of global warming. We tried to discover the issues for sustainability of the ecosystem from the viewpoint of designers.

3. Project: A variety of issues such as a new type of virus, organic agriculture, nuclear power generation, national land development, and a waste of energy, etc., are selected as the themes. The cause-effect relations among the factors of those issues were visualized in effective and interesting ways.

4. Design role : Designers developed the solutions to the socially critical issues easily and interestingly, and facilitated the intuitive understanding by simply visualizing many stories to be delivered.
