PITARA is an online platform and supporting team created by the National Institute of Design in Gandhinagar, India to facilitate the buying and selling of used goods between students. The platform aims to address the problem of excess materials and goods for some students by connecting them to other students with needs, reducing waste and extending the lifecycle of products. The design role focuses on service and system design to encourage reuse and reselling of items between the student community.
