This document outlines the six steps of the Big6 information literacy model: 1) Task Definition, 2) Information Seeking Strategies, 3) Location and Access, 4) Use of Information, 5) Synthesis, and 6) Evaluation. It provides brief descriptions of each step, with key questions and considerations. For example, in step 1 the learner defines what they need to do and formulate questions, in step 2 they determine information sources to search, and in step 6 they evaluate if their work successfully answered the original questions and followed proper citation practices. The overall goal of the Big6 model is to empower people to effectively seek, evaluate, use and create information to achieve their goals.
