- One last item: the Google Data Explorer through Google Labs.
- As you can see, Google can definitely give you detailed information on a wide variety of topics, but Google isn’t the only web search tool out there.Wolfram Alpha will help you get statistical information. You can gain information about statistics (population, weather, etc…), math, conversions, and more.The wolfram alpha title is linked to an example search page. Give a brief demonstration using the following searches: Show Examples by Topic page Take 10 minutes to explore the examples page. Search for something related to your program of study OR your own research topic for this class.
- Pass Out Research Log For This WeekExplain that they will need to search for 5 website articles this week on their research topic they have chosen.Go over what will be recorded on the sheet…and make sure they understand to copy and paste the URL of the website in an e-mail to themselves for easy retrieval later. They can also favorite the website on their home computer, or on a flash drive. (demonstrate saving a website to a flash drive).
- Explain the pieces of the citation in accordance with the research log.
