2. Industrial pollution is generally referred to the
unwanted outcome when factories (or other
industrial plants) produces harmful by-
products and waste into the environment such
as releases to air or water bodies (water
pollution), removal on landfills etc (land
pollution) or emission of toxic chemicals into
the atmosphere (air pollution).

3. The effects of industries are countless because they are of all kinds and each has various processes that
take place in each of them. The pollution coming from the industries pollute the air, water, soil and they
add to the light and noise pollution. Radiation is a by–product of the energy industry.
 Water pollution– Many untreated effluents have been added to water sources causing these to be
polluted. Sometimes the chemical nature of the water is altered, sometimes temperature and many
times nutrient rich pollution also occurs. Fish are stressed and they die out. Plants are affected and
at the same time insects and amphibians are affected too.
 Air pollution Industrial by-products in the form of gases are released from Iron and steel industries,
power plants. These cause harmful effects on human health such as eye irritations, occurrences and
aggravation of respiratory diseases such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, Chronic Obstructive
pulmonary disorder and Emphysema. The residue settles on the plants and is consumed by the
animals which are then consumed by the larger animals.

4. • Loss of wildlife Many species of plants, birds, insects,
animals are affected by industrial pollution. Habitats
being destroyed. Beautiful locations are affected by
these industries
• Economic effects Though industrialization may
appear to be a sign of development and
progress, the costs involved in pollution control
and clean-up of water sources and polluted
areas is very high. There is a loss of tourism
revenue. There is a lot of expenses on health.

5. •Large corporations can decrease their impact on surrounding
environments by being transparent and measuring and reporting the
number of emissions and waste they create. Companies should also
make an effort to educate employees, especially those who work in
engineering or chemical process design on how to cut back on
pollutants.
•Companies can take steps to mitigate or minimize the impact of
materials they use. Businesses have a responsibility to make use of
organic, non-hazardous materials whenever possible as well.```

6. Consumers have some ownership in the fight against
industrial waste. consumers can stop buying from
brands that are known polluters and work with
governments to make laws against waste.
By identifying, honestly disclosing and actively
combatting industrial pollution, companies, customers
and lawmakers alike have the power to make their
surroundings cleaner and increase their longevity
without disrupting their bottom line.
