kindergarteners, which most commonly
involve children from the ages of 5-7.

the children attentive can be difficult.
• The best ways to keep the children actively
engaged in the classroom is to provide them
with activities that are fun and interactive.
• Using a Smartboard in the class can be a great
way to keep children paying attention and as
well a way to make being in class fun.

• Since everyday in the
classroom attendance must
be taken, making taking
attendance fun really
creates a fun atmosphere
for the students in the class.
• Having each of the students
pop the balloon that
contains their name on it
makes it more exciting for
them while taking
attendance.

6. In the Classroom
• Everyday when the child enters the classroom, they
will be allowed to go up to the Smartboard and
navigate their own balloon and then pop it once they
found it.
• This creates an easy way for the teachers in the class
to figure out which students are there that day and
who are not.

7. Universal Design
• This lesson plan supports universal design
because every student in the class is able to
make use of this activity and participate since
every one must check in that day in order to
inform the teacher if they are there that day
or not.
