Learning Standards for Environment and Sustainability: Expressing leadership ...Lyle Birkey
The document discusses learning standards developed for environment and sustainability programs in Australia. It describes the process used to develop the standards which involved collaboration between 50 higher education institutions and over 250 stakeholders. The standards focus on four domains: technical and disciplinary knowledge, systemic understanding of human-environment interactions, skills for sustainability work, and ethical practice. The standards aim to provide minimum expectations while allowing flexibility for the diverse and transdisciplinary nature of environment and sustainability fields.
This document summarizes a presentation given at the University of York on managing an age-diverse workforce. The presentation discusses how the modern workforce incorporates multiple generations with different work skills and styles. While this can lead to conflicts, an age-diverse workforce also provides benefits if institutions harness the varying strengths of different generations. The University of Sheffield was used as a case study, outlining programs they have implemented to support career development, leadership training, and work-life balance across generations. These initiatives aim to fully engage employees and celebrate diversity to improve individual and team effectiveness.
The document discusses peer coaching models and a Subject Learning Coaches programme from 2007-2008. It defines peer coaching as when two or more professionals work together to reflect on practices, expand skills, share ideas, and problem solve. The peer coaching model is non-directive and recognizes the practitioner as the expert, with the coach facilitating reflection and learning. The Coaching Programme featured flexibility, enhanced support, strengthened recruitment, increased e-learning, and progression routes. It included elective modules on coaching approaches, high performing teams, e-learning, and supporting quality improvement.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.
LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.
Derby aims to be seen as an inclusive institution which supports all of its students to succeed.
Created in 2015 as a result of changes to DSA the group aimed to mitigated the impact on new students who would no longer receive funding
Raise awareness in staff about these changes and the importance of inclusive practice
Move beyond this dialogue to talk about the benefits of inclusive practices more generally
Bring together important roles form across the institution to work together in order to make Derby more inclusive
Learning and Teaching

Set out by setting out the top four actions to support students – these were reinforced by the VC and PVC Academic and Student Experience
1. Provide lecture notes 48 hours in advance of the session, as appropriate.
2. Use lecture recording to capture appropriate teaching sessions (didactic and where you expect students to take notes)
3. Use good practice when creating documents, presentations, video and audio to make them more accessible.
4. Talk to Student Wellbeing about any concerns regarding individual students
A wide range of Equality and Diversity events already available
A number of staff development events for staff to attend focused on inclusive learning and teaching practice:
Technology to support inclusive practice
Inclusive learning and teaching
Embedded in our institutional strategies related to learning and teaching but in particular in the Assessment and Feedback Strategy and the Technology Enhanced Learning Strategy
L&T Strategy: Promote inclusive and flexible learning provision which meets the diverse needs of different learners, and provides an environment in which learners are effectively supported in their transition through the different stages of their higher education journey
Assessment and Feedback Strategy: Core theme: Inclusive and authentic assessment and key aim To develop fully inclusive approaches to assessment and feedback
TEL Strategy: Digital practice benchmarked on inclusive elements and Invest in research in the digital experience which includes 'inclusive practice'
We commissioned an Inclusive Audit
Physical audit of Kedleston Road Campus
Digital Access Audit of VLE, E-Books and intranet
Lots of positives and a number of areas to work on:
Inparticular – Website and intranet accessibility, Accessibility of VLE content, sign posting around campus, access to student tap in for attendance, hearing enhancement systems
Departments are creating action plans to address issues identified in the audit
Inputting into Marketing rebrand and guidance around producing materials
Strategic alignment to other groups in the University
Focus on improvement on inclusive learning and teaching
The website and the student intranet called UDo are having a refresh and the teams looking at these are considering accessibility as part of this work. Making sure these systems, often one of the first experienes students have of the University are easy to navigate, logical in structure and provide the information students need in an accessible format.
Working with consultants to help ensure accessibility of these developments
We want these to be ‘born inclusive’
Bringing in new tools to help both staff and students
Introduced as a quick fix the Atbar has been put onto staff and student machines – change the look and feel of websites (text enlargement, font style and colour changes, text to speech, a dictionary, spell checking, word prediction and colour overlays).
ReadSpeaker – Text to speech for our VLE Blackboard
Ally in Blackboard – Provides alternative formats and educates people on how to improve accessibility of materials
The biggest challenge we face is to bring about a cultural shift where inclusive practice becomes embedded in everyday activities
That people across the University (teaching and professional support) see the value and purpose in understanding the importance of inclusivity and putting this into actions.
