Hello USAG Red Cloud and Area I
Community Members!
Can you believe it we are nearing the end
of the year already; time flew by so fast, and
soon it will be Christmas and then New Years
Eve! It’s a very special time of the year to
spend with family and friends.
Unfortunately, this may not be the case
with some of our Area I members. As much
as it is a glorious time of the year, this season
can be a very difficult time for many of our
unaccompanied Soldiers and Families far from home. Please be vigilant
and watch for lonely and/or depressed symptoms, and reach out to your
Battle Buddies; invite them into your home or get them involved in Unit
or FMWR activities at the clubs, bowling centers, CACs or ACS. The Army
is one big family and we need to take care of our own, so open your
hearts and homes to your extended family here in Area I.
Hello Area 1 Community Members!
I would like to say “Thank You” for
participating in our Independence Day
Celebration July 4th at Camp Casey. What
a change from last year where you stood
fast during the “on and off” again rains, this
year we had bright beautiful sunny skies and
though at times it was quite warm, the smiles
on your faces and your laughter could be
heard throughout the event site. From food eating contest, Warrior’s
Got Talent show, games, rides, entertainment, food and beverage there was so much to offer, so much fun and what more could one say except “WOW” when the fireworks capped off a perfect day.
Area 1 has a lot going on in August check out some of our favorites:
Commander's Cup Video Challenge at all Area I CACs, CRC BOSS "Hoop it UP", Commander's Cup Intramural Golf at Casey and CRC, DMZ Trips with sign ups at Area I CACs, Family Rail Bike Trip to Gangchon, Comedy Show at Gateway, CYSS Open House, you can find all these and more in the August ITZ magazine, “Happy Reading!”
Hello Area I Community Members!! Here we are, September and the Kids are back in school, the days are
beginning to shorten and we continue tomarch on!eptember presents some interestingthings as we beginto close the Camp Casey Gateway Club for some major
renovations; new roof, restrooms, upgraded electrical and a fewother things as well. To accommodate that closure, we haveplans to lessen and to minimize this closure’s disruption. We will extend hours at Warriors Club, add additional programs at the Bowling Center, continue the Gateway Pizza delivery and more… you can read more about it on page 5. We close thefacility by 23 September and anticipate to reopen with a “Grand Opening” next Spring. We will keep you posted on the progress
that the Gateway Club is making as we move along.
Please be vigilant of the school kids that are out and about
acclimating back to their studies. Take the time to peruse the ITZ for all the great programs, events and happenings that are planned for YOU!

When most people in the industry talk about online or digital reputation management, what they're really saying is Google search and PPC. It leaves executives, organizations and other high-profile individuals at a high risk of a digital reputation attack that spans channels and tactics. But the tools needed to safeguard against an attack are more cybersecurity-oriented than most marketing and communications professionals can manage. Business leaders Leaders grasp the importance; 83% of executives place reputation in their top five areas of risk, yet only 23% are confident in their ability to address it. Financial curveballs sent many American families reeling in 2023. Household budgets were squeezed by rising interest rates, surging prices on everyday goods, and a stagnating housing market. Consumers were feeling strapped. That sentiment, however, appears to be waning. The question is, to what extent?
To take the pulse of consumers’ feelings about their financial well-being ahead of a highly anticipated election, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey. The survey highlights consumers’ hopes and anxieties as we move into 2024. Let's unpack the key findings to gain insights about where we stand.

Search Engine Marketing - Competitor and Keyword researchETMARK ACADEMY
Over 2 Trillion searches are made per day in Google search, which means there are more than 2 Trillion visits happening across the websites of the world wide web.
People search various questions, phrases or words. But some words and phrases are searched
more often than others.
For example, the words, ‘running shoes’ are searched more often than ‘best road running
shoes for men’
These words or phrases which people use to search on Google are called Keywords.
Some keywords are searched more often than others. Number of times a keyword is searched
for in a month is called keyword volume.
Some keywords have more relevant results than others. For the phrase “running shoes” we
get more than 80M relevant results, whereas for “best road running shoes for men” we get
only 8.
The former keyword ‘running shoes’ has way more competition from popular websites to
new and small blogs, whereas the latter keyword doesn’t have that much competition. This
search competition for a keyword is called search difficulty of a keyword or keyword
difficulty.
In other words, if the keyword difficulty is ‘low’ or ‘easy’, there won’t be any competition
and if you target such keywords on your site, you can easily rank on the front page of Google.
Some keywords are searched for, just to know or to learn some information about something,
that’s their search intention. For example, “What shoe size should I choose?” or “How to pick
the right shoe size?”
These keywords which are searched just to know about stuff are called informational
keywords. Typically people who are searching this type of keywords are top of a Conversion
funnel.
Conversion funnel is the journey that search visitors go through on their way to an email
subscription or a premium subscription to the services you offer or a purchase of products
you sell or recommend using your referral link.
For some buyers, research is the most important part when they have to buy a product.
Depending on that, their journey either widens or narrows down. These types of buyers are
Researchers and they spend more time with informational keywords.
Conversion is the action you want from your search visitors. Number of conversions that you
get for every 100 search visitors is called Conversion rate.
People who are at different stages of a conversion funnel use different types of keywords.

For too many years marketing and sales have operated in silos...while in some forward thinking companies, the two organizations work together to drive new opportunity development and revenue. This session will explore the lessons learned in that beautiful dance that can occur when marketing and sales work together...to drive new opportunity development, account expansion and customer satisfaction.
No, this is not a conversation about MQLs and SQLs. Instead we will focus on a framework that allows the two organizations to drive company success together.

5. Back in February 2015, the Mitchell’s Club conducted
a Voice of the Customer (VOC) Analysis, to better
understand the wants, needs and desires of our
customers. We’ve asked over 60 community members
to participate in several systematic, objective and
unbiased meeting sessions, and another 60 more
to participate in online surveys that provided better
insight of what our customers want and expect from
the Mitchell’s Club. We’ve learned a lot from our
customers, and are grateful for their honest input in
helping us identify our strengths and weaknesses.
The Voice of the Customer Analysis helped us develop
a plan to address our customers’ expectations and
improve the way we serve and provide products
to the community. As a result, the Mitchell’s Club
is going back to fundamentals and making several
changes and focusing on areas that would best meet
our customers’ expectations: Providing Excellent
Meals, Presenting Exciting Programs and Delivering
Service with Sincerity. These changes will impact
areas of weaknesses identified, such as the lack of a
menu variety, poor food quality, and inconsistency in
products/services provided.
Effective July 13- 19, 2015, Mitchell's Club will
finalize its upgraded programs, services and menus
and will throw a party to say thank you! Our changes
will feature upgraded menus with a new look and
feel, an evolving buffet arrangement, added salad
bar variety, and ultimately; great service for all our
customers. Our menu will include current favorites
along with new items, highlighting different styles of
preparation, healthy options and improved variety.
Each of these menu items will have distinct flavor
profiles and preparation methods to please everyone’s
palate: from savory, bold, spicy, tangy to creamy; our
new menu will have something palatable and available
for any occasion. These changes will also incorporate
a modern fit, enabling a more visually appealing
presentation to match the improved quality of food
we will provide. Our Themed Buffet will remain;
however, buffet offerings will change weekly, with the
new menu lineup being posted regularly on a calendar
for advance notice. In addition, our Salad Bar offering
will be enhanced with added protein portions, new
toppings and dressing options. Also, for soup
lovers, we will now start providing homemade-style
selections.
Mitchell’s Club is a historical club located in Camp Red
Cloud, proudly named after CPL Mitchell Red Cloud
Jr., a Medal of Honor Recipient who courageously
served with the 24th Infantry Division during the
Korean War. As we proudly represent CPL Mitchell
Red Cloud’s name, we will honor that representation
and strive to be the best service and product provider
in Area I, as we endeavor to meet the needs and
expectations of those who serve our nation.

14. WARRIOR COUNTRY,
4TH
OF JULY CELEBRATION
July 3 / 7 p.m. - 12 midnight July 4 / 12 noon - 12 midnight
At the Camp Casey, Golf Course Parking Lot
Raymond Santiago, FMWR
Community Recreation Division
Chief, agrees: “This is a significant
day, a reason for our community
to celebrate and we’re definitely
pulling out all the stops in our
preparation. We’ll highlight
the red, white and blue, and
provide several activities and programs that would remind
participants of festivals they’ve participated in back home.
So make sure you mark those calendars and don’t miss out
on this event!”
The celebration will start off on
July 3 with a live stage performance
at 7:30 p.m. by the band ‘Alien
Ant Farm’ with album hits such as
Smooth Criminal, Courage and
These Days. “Area I didn’t get to
host A-list performances in recent
4th of July events, so this show is
certainly a welcome addition to kick off the celebration.”
said Mr. Chong, Sang Sop, Area I Entertainment Specialist.
“So if you don’t have any plans for a Friday night, bring the
family and friends along and join this free concert at the
Casey Golf Course parking lot, with the party continuing all
the way until 12 midnight.”
The festivities continue on July 4, starting at 12 noon
with most of the major event features. “As promised, we’ll
have something for young and old alike,” Raymond began,
“hence we’ve planned for children’s activities such as the
face-painting/balloon art booth, a paddle boat ride, an
‘Inflatable Kingdom’ with carnival games, mule and donkey
rides, kite-flying zone and a petting zoo just to name a
few. And for the adult crowd we’ll have the food-eating
contests, a Chili Cook-Off, an Area I Car Show, and live
band performances throughout the day.”
The 4th of July is understandably, the most important
date in our country’s history, marking not just the
birth of a great nation, but celebrating the times
ever since that the United States withstood turmoil,
disasters, societal upheavals; not just surviving the
test of time, but thriving as a nation, strong and intact
throughout the years. So how does one acknowledge
this monumental feat, how would a grateful, patriotic
American community celebrate this significant date?
Why of course, we plan one helluva fun party!
The Warrior Country 4th of July Celebration is still
weeks away, but rest assured the USAG Red Cloud
Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR)
team has been quite busy preparing something fun and
exciting for the community to enjoy. This time around
would be a little bit more special, somewhat poignant,
given that this might be the final time we’ll have a
significant number of families participating due to the
ongoing transformation. Nonetheless, this will certainly
be a fun time for all involved, both event organizers
and attendees of the event, young and old alike.
Mr. Raymond Santiago
Mr. Chong, Sang Sop
14 USAG Red Cloud - Casey and Area I Family and MWR Magazine
Entertainment
15. Mr. Howard Kuroda
“This is the first time I’ll get to see a live Salute to
the Nation, and I’ve been told it’s quite an inspiring and
patriotic demonstration, so I’m certainly looking forward
to watching this along with the world-class fireworks show
with my family,” Raymond added with a smile.
If you’re looking for a fun place to be during the 4th of
July holiday weekend, look no further; bring your family
members and friends along, and join us in celebrating the
United States’ 240th birthday at the Camp Casey, Golf
Course Parking Lot on July 3 / 7 p.m. – 12 midnight and
July 4 / 12 noon to 12 midnight. See you there!
The 4th
of July Celebration is a major community event,
a highlight celebration for both our nation and the Warrior
Country Community. There is a monumental task involved
in the planning and preparation of this event, for which
Area I FMWR would like to sincerely thank the USAG
Red Cloud/Casey Team, as well as the Second Infantry
Division for the support they’ve provided, and for all the
community volunteers and event organizers for helping
make this event happen.
Friday, July 3 / 7:30 p.m.
‘Alien Ant Farm’ Concert!
Not to be outdone, the FMWR
Business Operations Division
(BOD) will have several food and
beverage booths at the venue.
“This understandably is a huge
team effort, so we’ve mustered
our resources and planned
on providing great food and
beverage products that participants will enjoy, and quite
possibly remind them of festivities they’ve experienced
back home,” said Mr. Howard Kuroda, FMWR BOD Chief,
“It’s going to be a long hot day, but we’re definitely
prepared to serve our customers all the way until the
closing hours of the vent.”
The event highlight will consist of an inspiring Salute
to the Nation, a joint effort between band and artillery
elements of the Second Infantry Division, recognizing
the 50 states and territories representing the United
States of America. Soldiers all the way from the band
members, cannon firing team and flag bearers have
practiced hard for this show, and is certainly a ‘can’t miss’
event especially since it is immediately followed by a
spectacular fireworks show to cap the evening.

BOSSLotteWorldTrip
I recently joined a BOSS Tour to Lotte World, the first
domestic amusement park located in Seoul, also named
the largest indoor amusement park in the world by the
Guinness Book of World records in 1995. Throughout the
years, Lotte World has built a reputation as one of the best
amusement parks in the world, garnering rave reviews
from both foreigners and Korean visitors alike.
Stepping inside the Lotte World building complex will
not transport you immediately to the amusement park,
you’ll have to walk a little bit further, past several name
brand shops and restaurants until you reach the park
entrance. A very important tip for any future patrons is
AREA I BOSS,
LOTTE WORLD TRIP!“Awakening the Kid in You, One Ride at a Time”
The calendar has turned a page once again,
and with it the sun is getting brighter and the
weather is definitely getting warmer. Just
because it’s getting warmer though, doesn’t
necessarily mean Soldiers are you’re having fun
getting out of the barracks and experiencing
the great weather. Unfortunately, some
Soldiers equate ‘fun’ as sitting in their rooms
watching a movie or playing video games
all day-----but it doesn’t have to be this way,
there’s a lot more going on in the Korean
peninsula that you’re missing out on!
Among Area I Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers’
(BOSS) goals, is to make your duty station experience
more enjoyable by providing a means to experience fun
and interesting trips in Korea. For starters, and some
of you might not know this, but in Korea, BOSS trips
aren’t just for single Soldiers, they’re also available to
unaccompanied Soldiers. So if you think you’ve missed
out because you’re married and unaccompanied; you
certainly haven’t, just signup for the next trip! Likewise,
civilian US ID cardholders are also allowed to join on a
‘space available’ basis, just talk to your local BOSS rep for
more info.

that once you enter the park, even with a day pass, you
cannot re-enter the park once you leave. So if you plan on
eating at one of the restaurants outside wait till you’ve had
your fun in the park before you leave, or be prepared to
pay a second time to get in.
Once you finally make it inside, you’ll certainly be
impressed with what they have available in the year-round,
indoor portion of the park. They have rides and attractions
that will entertain all age groups. Take for example the
indoor Flume Ride, which will send you back in time to the
Jurassic era, ending with a memorable and exciting splash!
Or are you brave enough to enter the Tomb of Horrors and
try your luck at escaping, or how about a thrilling swing
in the Pirate’s Fury? There’s quite a lot of rides to choose
from and satisfy the daredevil in you.
Another tip for all you 6 footers and above to
remember, is although most the rides at Lotte World
have a minimum height requirement, there is a maximum
height as well; so keep that in mind before waiting in lines
and check the information posted in front of each ride
entrance.
While there are quite a lot of attractions for thrill
seekers, there are those as well for customers who may
just prefer a nice relaxing ride, such as the Lotty’s Air
Balloon, giving you a chance to see the whole indoor
portion of the park from a bird’s eye view. Lotte World’s
indoor park offers a variety of activities other than rides
and park attractions. Tired of the rides, how about ice
skating? That’s right, located right inside Lotte World----
just head downstairs, strap on a pair of skates and enjoy
the wind in your face, as you do lap after lap in the largest
indoor ice rink in Korea!
With the weather improving, comes more time for
outdoors fun at the park! Magic Island is the outdoor
portion of Lotte World, easily accessible via escalators
and elevators, and offering even more fun and excitement
for all ages. There are places for young children like the
Petit Pang Pang, a classical European Car which travels
around the lake shore giving you a beautiful view of the
surrounding area. Then there are rides for adult thrill
seekers like Atlantis (which should be on everyone’s list to
experience), combining two kinds of rides, The Flume and
a Roller Coaster! If you’re up for the utmost in extreme
thrills, don’t forget the Gyro Drop offering patrons the
perfect free-fall experience, with approximately two
seconds of zero gravity excitement!
For those of you visiting for the first time, the Lotte
World Complex is a lot more than just a park, it offers
several shopping stores, a variety of food restaurants and
even onsite lodging. If you’ve missed out on the chance
to join BOSS during this trip, don’t despair, Lotte World is
perfectly accessible via train and express bus stop, giving
you the opportunity to experience the tour at your own
pace if you so choose. Just make sure you purchase an
FMWR T-Money Card at any local CAC, and ask a staff
for directions on which trains or buses to take on the way
there. Either way, try not to miss out on the next BOSS
trip and contact your local BOSS Rep today!

PFC Joshua Lagrone arrived to Camp Casey in July 2014, and
immediately decided not to just sit still and remain idle during
his tour in Area I. Since then, he has been an active community
volunteer, and on any given day can be found helping out with
BOSS (Better Opportunity for Single Soldiers) events, assisting
Soldiers at the Camp Casey Community Activity Center (CAC), or
participating in volunteer projects with his unit, the 55th Military
Police (MP) Company located at Camp Casey. As a result, he has
logged over 100 volunteer hours, all counted towards improving
lives in both the Area I and local community, and setting an
example for others to follow. PFC Lagrone’s caring attitude and
actions have set a positive and long lasting impression in many
South Korean lives, both young and old alike.
Some may believe that being an officer of the law and serving
the community is simply second nature, but PFC Lagrone has
proven to be that and much more as an outstanding individual
and an exceptional volunteer. He takes pride in contributing to
the welfare of others, and truly believes in selfless service. He
is always the first to volunteer, maintains a great attitude and is
often times the last to leave. In addition to assisting with day-
to-day center operations, he offers kind words of wisdom and
legal information to Soldiers dealing with legal challenges. When
asked why he volunteers, PFC Lagrone responded, “Caring for
others is a great way to serve our nation, and I find it to be very
rewarding.”
V
COMMUNITY
OLUNTEER
SPOTLIGHT
Down time is considered a luxury when serving
as a Police Officer, but PFC Lagrone chooses to
spend his free time giving back to the community.
His volunteerism is not just limited to Camp
Casey but extends to the surrounding city of
Dongducheon and its suburbs. From serving
food at the Ganeung station Soup Kitchen, and
helping hundreds of people feel the comfort
of a warm meal; to spending time with children
from the Aesin orphanage, this Soldier has
bonded with the next generation of our Korean
Allies. PFC Lagrone stated, Giving back to the
local community in Area I is a great way to build
relationships and show our appreciation to our
Korean brothers and sisters. If you have free
time, I highly recommend devoting those to the
community in a positive manner.”
PFC Lagrone has made a positive and lasting
impact on the lives of those around him, his
persona unequivocally embodying the phrase
“Katchi Kapishida!” PFC Lagrone’s time and
commitment to volunteering exemplifies the
Army’s Volunteer Corp invaluable service to
the Area I community. For this we are grateful,
and say 'Thank you' and Congratulations PFC
Lagrone, for being in the “Community Volunteer
Spotlight” for the month of June 2015.
