Homo sapiens developed spoken language which allowed them to communicate in the dark, extending meaningful conversations. This may have given them an advantage over other hominins by enabling nighttime planning and invasions to displace earlier migrants. The ability to communicate vocally without relying on visuals helped Homo sapiens migrate and spread more widely.
