INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS IN PRE-CALCULUS
Carrots Use As Cone In Conic Section Lesson Presentation
ABSTRACT:
In line with the k-12 program is the use of intructional materials which are indigenized,
contextualized or localized in nature. This is to address the 21st
century learners’ need for globally
competitive education. IM’s that could minimize the time in preparing them, minimize time in
introducing the lesson and materials are available and will serve the purpose.
Materials:
1. Carrots or radish that are perfectly cone in shape.
2. Cutter or knife
3. Used calendar or manila paper
4. Scotch tape
5. Pentel pen
Procedure:
1. Slice the carrots into different angles
2. Group the sliced carrots according to shape at least 3 groups
3. Mount one (1) sample of each group on the used calendar or manila paper using the scotch
tape.
4. Identify the conic section that each sample represent.
