● Assistance in serological survey design and analysis, assessment of FMD
control measures through the Working Group on FMD surveillance in WE

6. ● SOI Database (sharing of information and data on vaccination and outbreaks), include
surveillance information in database (this workshop!)
● Address issue of surveillance system sensitivity (passive surveillance, using Thrace
example)
● Assess countries’ interests in integrated surveillance for FAST diseases
● Promote PVM/small scale immunogenicity studies, using TCC experience
● Share with WE Networks/EpiNet focal points:
○ EuFMD disease reports
○ Results of risk mapping exercises (CIRAD training)
○ upcoming training opportunities, incl. on socio economics and PPP

7. ● Group for Vaccination Advice, Guidance and Consultation (GVA) for
SEEN countries
○ making available training resources on vaccine selection and best practices
regarding vaccination;
○ developing protocols for routinely assessing vaccine quality, undertaking
vaccination effectiveness studies and promoting their implementation;
○ intensifying networking between countries to improve sharing of
information and expertise.
