2. Context
FAST diseases in European neighboring countries
Integrated risk based surveillance focusing on specific risk hubs can optimize resources of veterinary
services and improve the effectiveness of control measures implemented
Sharing of risk information from other countries is useful to better define risk locations and hotspots and
might include:
● livestock demographics
● livestock trade and movement patterns
● national surveillance and control strategies
● results of surveillance and PVM studies
● advancement of vaccination programmes
● ……
Such data are frequently non-structured and only available by consulting different sources.
A series of Country cards presenting this information in a summarized and consistent format would facilitate the
sharing of information.

3. Country cards: a tool for risk information sharing
Objectives
● harmonized collection of information from heterogeneous sources
● data partially not available in open access databases
(e.g. results of surveillance activities for disease prevalence or
vaccine coverage, results of immunogenicity studies, animal
movements, etc)
● baseline data to facilitate the regular monitoring and reporting of
changes in risk of FAST diseases
● facilitate the sharing of risk information and improve knowledge
of FAST situation and risks in the region in order to improve
surveillance and control programs in countries and across borders
