2. Acquisitions: the dark ages

3. Acquisitions has changed…
Library processes improved over years due to:
• Structural changes (new roles necessitated doing
more with less).
• Improved LMS.
• Ring-fenced acquisitions budget – money to
spend, but only on materials.
Complete procedure revamp in 2012: just 3 steps
from request to order.
Total efficiency achieved… right?

4. But… there’s still a problem
• Less than 15% of active modules supported.
• Student requirements not always being met, or
not known about.
• Poor engagement from academics due to
communications / timing of processes.
