6. Many lose ends would have surfaced
– sudden lockdown would have left us
all with no access to office keys,
computers, servers, cheque books,
digital signature dongles, files,
records, etc.
Realisation would be - where is the
back up for key resources for
execution of tasks.
With Work From Home – WFH, breach of
data security would be staring at us.
What was an excuse as not so secure in
investing on technology, overnight search
for laptops – on purchase or hire, high
speed data connection, cloud technology
tools to manage, has made us make
fanatic call to the IT service provider.

7. We realised our Managers did not know to
allot work, monitor and review their
colleagues in remote locations.
It seemed like a new skill requirement to
engage with virtual teams.
The Leadership competency had to be
revisited seeing them during crisis.
It dawned on us that tech literacy became
an urgent training need for most of our
employees.

8. Skills that matters for the future – Digital technology,
virtual management, online transactions, App for daily
work management, investing in Cloud storage to be
prudent on technology cost.
Revisit HR work flow –
Remove or modify processes that don’t make a business sense,
Bring Your Own Devise - BYOD,
Break shifts to have employees only when it is required,
staggered shifts to have better service levels,
more work hours per day (12 hrs)- less work days in a week (4
days) ,
time sheet to track time spent to complete task,
measuring work using time sheets and pay for the work done.
