Effective communication is key to success in life but most people communicate in complex ways without understanding proper skills. To communicate effectively, one must understand the necessary skills which include writing, reading, speaking, and listening. With practice and effort improving these four skills, communication can become more natural and effective by conveying messages clearly, concisely, and without room for misunderstanding. There are many ways to strengthen communication skills that will be discussed in future blogs.

Communication is an activity, skill, and art that incorporates lessons learned across a wide spectrum of human knowledge. Perhaps the most time-honored form of communication is storytelling. We’ve told each other stories for ages to help make sense of our world, anticipate the future, and certainly to entertain ourselves. The art of storytelling draws on your understanding of yourself, your message, and how you communicate it to an audience that is simultaneously communicating back to you. Your anticipation, reaction, and adaptation to the process will determine how successfully you are able to communicate. You were not born knowing how to write or even how to talk—but in the process of growing up, you have undoubtedly learned how to tell, and how not tell, a story out loud and in writing.

Effective communication takes preparation, practice, and persistence. There are many ways to learn communication skills; the school of experience, or “hard knocks,” is one of them. But in the business environment, a “knock” (or lesson learned) may come at the expense of your credibility through a blown presentation to a client. The classroom environment, with a compilation of information and resources such as a text, can offer you a trial run where you get to try out new ideas and skills before you have to use them to communicate effectively to make a sale or form a new partnership. Listening to yourself, or perhaps the comments of others, may help you reflect on new ways to present, or perceive, thoughts, ideas and concepts. The net result is your growth; ultimately your ability to communicate in business will improve, opening more doors than you might anticipate.

The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. - 2. We all communicate with others may be to known are unknown every day in our life but do we commute effectively? The answer to this question will be a big NO. Mostly we make even a simple communication into a complex form without knowing the proper way to tell the information. In order to eradicate this, we should know to commute effectively and that can be achieved by understanding the needed skill for that. Effective communication skills are the key to succeed in many aspects of life. People with this skill taste the success in work place, friends and family. Effective communication ought to be spontaneous.
- 3. Effective communication ought to be natural. However once we attempt to communicate with others one thing goes awry. We say one factor, where the opposite person may get misunderstandings, frustration, and conflicts arise. This could cause issues in your home, school, and work relationships. For several folks, communicating undoubtedly and efficiently needs learning some necessary skills. whether or not you’re making an attempt to enhance communication together with your relative, kids, boss, or coworkers, learning these skills will strengthen your connections to others, build better trust and respect, and improve cooperation, downside resolution, and on the whole your social and emotional health.
- 4. Effective communication is something better than just exchanging information. It's about understanding the emotion and purposes hidden behind the information. For this, we need all the four skills like writing, reading, speaking and listening. For example: If a person writes a letter to his friend and the receiver reads it, here the writing and reading skills are required. Likewise when a person speaks to his friend where the listener listens to it the speaking and writing skills are involved here. Thus all the four skills are used for communication and moreover, the read message seldom gets the same effect as a speech that’s delivered (or appears to be delivered) spontaneously. Of course, it needs time and effort to improve these skills. The greater effort and practice you do, you can attain the more natural and effective your communication skills.
- 5. Thus we should convey the message clearly, concisely, and unswervingly, we would annihilate the chances for miscommunication .There are many ways to improve the communication skills to be delivered effectively and instinctively which will be discussed in my next blog……
