Thoughts on Conversation as a Platform
• Prominent as key innovation at Envision and Build 2015
• Not really a platform – but a new user interface
• As such could be the end of mobile apps as we know them
• The backend is fundamentally different
• Must be BigData and Analytics enabled
• Needs Language Processing and Machine Learning
• Needs a new application to be built
•
Summary: Interesting new approach – good to see Microsoft
innovating.

• Good to see first move innovation by Microsoft, gone are the embrace and
extend days
• Microsoft has all the tools to enable CaaP giving developers all tools at Build
• Now the question is
• Can Microsoft create the showcases to convince enterprises
• Will developer build applications for it, is the monetization clear
• CaaP is very important to Microsoft as it may create the next load for Azure
