· Company overview
Youfoodz, founded in 2012, is a Brisbane, Australia-based ready-to-eat food delivery company. Youfoodz offers more than five million meals to customers across Australia and is changing the way people think about prepared foods. In this project, I contacted Youfoodz company by email and got permission from the company to conduct market research and data collection.
The service is offered through its online website and mobile application that consumers can order different products according to their preferences online, e.g., meals, snacks, drinks, gift card and meal plans. It also offers free shipping based on a certain number of orders or location. The company target primarily at people who are fitness, want to lose weight or time-poor. The most distinctive product concept of the company is "70/30", which means 70% clean and healthy meals plus 30% freedom what you want equals a happy and healthy you".
· Market overview
In the digital age, the fast-food industry is growing. From merely serving ready-made meals to people on the go, it has now expanded to include an online/web-based category that promises healthier choices than the prepackaged foods we see in the frozen section. These dishes are prepared by professional chefs and some new players on the market, ready to use the best and local products (Jacob, 2017).
In Australia, many start-ups are now trying to grab a piece of the growing market. From 2016 to 2022, the food delivery market is expected to grow at a CGAR (compound annual growth rate) of 6% to reach a market size of $140 billion (Indig, 2019). The industry's products are segmented by dietary ingredients which have benefited from growing demand from time-poor consumers over the past five years. Gluten-free, vegan and non-dairy prepared foods are expected to become more popular (IBISWorld, 2018). Also means that this is a potential, competitive and dynamic market.

Case 12.1 Home Value Stores (LO2)
Home Value Stores operates 264 membership warehouse stores in the United States, Europe, and Asia. The company offers low prices on a limited selection of household and grocery products. In the past year, sales increased by approximately 10.8 percent and net earnings increased by 6.4 percent. The company opened only two stores in 2020 and 2021 and closed one of its stores due to poor performance. Jack Davidson and Michael Prine are on the board of directors of Home Value and serve on the company’s compensation committee. At a recent lunch meeting, they discussed the company’s performance. (See the table on the next page for a balance sheet and an income statement.) Both were pleased with the increase in profit and decided to recommend a contract extension and a substantial six-figure bonus for the company’s CEO. They anticipated, however, that the third member of the compensation committee, Tanya Barrett, would object to the bonus. Tanya believes that accounting profit is a poor measure of future firm performance. In her opinion, the company should be focused on what it is doing today to create future value for shareholders. She has also pointed out that, although the company showed quarterly profit increases, its stock price remained flat.
Required
1. To prepare for an upcoming board meeting, Tanya has asked you to evaluate financial performance for 2020 and 2021, taking into account both the level of investment and the cost of capital. Specifically, she would like you to calculate the level of profit (loss) that was earned in excess of the amount required given the investment in the company. Assume that the cost of capital is 15 percent. Is it clear that the company has had superior financial performance?
2. In fiscal 2022, the CEO of Home Value Stores retired. His successor is concerned that warehouse managers do not understand how their actions are linked to the company’s strategy and how they can affect future firm value. In his opinion, while monthly earnings are important, managers are focused almost exclusively on how their actions affect these numbers. Suggest a performance measurement technique that can be used to address the new CEO’s concerns.

Cost Accounting Practices in Bangladesh A Study of the Pharmaceutical Sectorijtsrd
This study purports to present an investigation of the current cost accounting practices in the selected pharmaceutical companies of Bangladesh. Through a combination of illustrative and cumulative case study of five randomly selected pharmaceutical companies, this study finds that the sampled companies, in general, have a high ratio of product costs to period costs, a higher degree of operating leverage, a number of discretionary costs, absence of activity based management, reliance on budgets for planning and controlling costs and primarily apply process costing method for product costing, absorption costing for internal reporting and tend to avoid complex methods in favor of simply understandable methods even at the cost of accuracy. This study recommends the introduction of the concepts of activity based management, total quality management, life cycle costing, six sigma principles and balanced scorecard to reflect the recent developments in the cost accounting of the pharmaceutical companies to ensure better control, greater effectiveness and a more informed management. The major limitations of this study involve the lack of previous research concerning the same topic in Bangladesh, the unavailability of cost accounting information and inadvertence of management to share internal data on grounds of confidentiality. An important finding is that managers, in general, are less informed about the overall organizational practices of cost accounting and tend to concentrate on own areas. This study is expected to add value to the cost accounting stakeholders of the country along with academicians, corporations, management, students and the public in general through refining their views about the cost accounting practices in Bangladesh. The governing board of Middleville hired a consulting company to evaluate its strategic performance, specifically in the areas of Human Resources, Information Technology, Financing, and Marketing. As part of the consultant’s evaluation, several leaders of Middleville’s units were asked their perspective of the organization’s performance.
You are working for the consultant. Your job is to identify the issues from the response that should be considered further by the consultant team and possibly discussed with the governing board and the CEO. The firm has a rule, “Never offer a criticism or negative finding without suggesting how the client organization can correct it,” so you must indicate what sort of correction you would recommend as part of your list. Because you know there were about two (2) dozen other interviews, you decide you should rank your issues in importance, to make sure the most critical are discussed.
Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:
1. Explain the governing board’s role in these strategic initiatives, determining its responsibility and involvement.
2. Evidence-based management means that operational and strategic decisions are made based upon the evidence that goals and objectives are actually being met. Quantitative measurements must be identified and measured. This data is then used to evaluate the HCO’s performance. Name three (3) performances Middleville can use to measure its success in providing quality healthcare to the community, and identify quantifiable, measureable indicators that can be used to do so. Explain the importance of each performance measurement.
3. Given the statistics of Middleville and its two (2) competitors provided in Table 1, recommend to the HCO what areas it should focus on to maintain its competitive market share as well as continue to provide healthcare to the community in the 21st century.
4. Some of Middleville’s Board members are very interested in pursuing advanced technology systems over the next five (5) years, while others are concerned about the enormous expense and need assurance that the investment in technology will be worthwhile. In both monetary and process terms, describe the costs and benefits associated with implementing EMR and associated health data systems. Lay out a plan for how various systems can be implemented.

China is one of the largest country in Asia in terms of area and population. China’s economy has undergone massive transition where the central planning system has given way to a state-led market mechanism since economic reforms began in 1978. Unlike the endogenous emergence of market mechanism as demonstrated by Western experience, China’s embrace of market mechanism was initiated by the government as an effort to tackle the domestic rising tension in the 1980s. Although the state-owned dominated the social production in the early post-reform era, various ownership are allowed and encouraged to participate in social economic activities after state-owned enterprise (SOEs) reforms. This institutional change has brought the decades-long rapid growth as new socio-economic changes triggered by economic reforms have been continuously well reflected by the institutional evolutions. New institutional arrangement after reforms has provided sufficient support to nurture the emerging industrialization, and sustain the technology upgrading and regional production network building.
The consumer decision-making process consists of five steps, which are need recognition, information search, evaluations of alternatives, purchase and post-purchase behavior. These steps can be a guide for marketers to understand and communicate effectively to consumers. One note is that consumers do not always move in the exact order through the process; it can depend on the type of product, the buying stage of the consumer and even financial status.
Strategic Management has been changed over the years in terms of its scope and

If the question is asked “What is Love Canal? Why is it important?” the answer could be simply put, it is an incomplete canal, or just a trench, built in western New York state in the 1890s. From the 1930s through the 1950s, it was used as a chemical waste dump. The surrounding land was then sold and used for residential purposes, and soon people began complaining about strange odours and possible health problems. Heath, 1982). Other information is drawn from materials listed in the other Love Canal Resources sections.

A Memorandum of Association (MOA) is a legal document that outlines the fundamental principles and objectives upon which a company operates. It serves as the company's charter or constitution and defines the scope of its activities. Here's a detailed note on the MOA:
Contents of Memorandum of Association:
Name Clause: This clause states the name of the company, which should end with words like "Limited" or "Ltd." for a public limited company and "Private Limited" or "Pvt. Ltd." for a private limited company.

Registered Office Clause: It specifies the location where the company's registered office is situated. This office is where all official communications and notices are sent.
Objective Clause: This clause delineates the main objectives for which the company is formed. It's important to define these objectives clearly, as the company cannot undertake activities beyond those mentioned in this clause.

Liability Clause: It outlines the extent of liability of the company's members. In the case of companies limited by shares, the liability of members is limited to the amount unpaid on their shares. Capital Clause: This clause specifies the authorized capital of the company, i.e., the maximum amount of share capital the company is authorized to issue. It also mentions the division of this capital into shares and their respective nominal value.
Association Clause: It simply states that the subscribers wish to form a company and agree to become members of it, in accordance with the terms of the MOA.
Importance of Memorandum of Association:
Legal Requirement: The MOA is a legal requirement for the formation of a company. It must be filed with the Registrar of Companies during the incorporation process.
Constitutional Document: It serves as the company's constitutional document, defining its scope, powers, and limitations.
Protection of Members: It protects the interests of the company's members by clearly defining the objectives and limiting their liability.
External Communication: It provides clarity to external parties, such as investors, creditors, and regulatory authorities, regarding the company's objectives and powers.

Binding Authority: The company and its members are bound by the provisions of the MOA. Any action taken beyond its scope may be considered ultra vires (beyond the powers) of the company and therefore void.
Amendment of MOA:
While the MOA lays down the company's fundamental principles, it is not entirely immutable. It can be amended, but only under specific circumstances and in compliance with legal procedures. Amendments typically require shareholder
