One more report in 2013
’Handling of sewage within the merchant shipping’
- Based on survey answers from ships and interviews with
involved parties.
- No tests onboard, but more or less the same conclusion!
- A lack of standardised data for dimensioning of STP and
sampling.
- IACS / PSC surveyors don’t know how to take samples on the
effluent water!
- A considerable amount of the STP on board participating ships
were found to be under-dimensioned.
- A few of the participants has STP installed which are in direct
conflict with the applicable regulations!
