The EB-5 visa allows eligible individuals to obtain permanent residency in the U.S. by investing between $500,000 and $1,000,000 in a new or expanding commercial enterprise that creates at least 10 full-time jobs. Applicants must prove the investment comes from a lawful source and can apply either within the U.S. or through a consulate abroad. Successful investors must file a petition to remove conditions on their residency two years after their admission as a conditional resident.
