LINGIG COMMUNITY HOSPITAL IMMERSION
NARRATIVE REPORT
Work immersion allows students to exhibit the skills that they’ve learned in the
school. Through this work immersion, the students are exposed to and become
familiarized with work-related environment to their field of specialization. “Work
immersion is a key feature in the Senior High School Curriculum. It can be
conducted in different ways depending on the purposes and needs of the learners”,
DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones said. With this, the Science Technology
Engineering and Mathematics Strand , of Lingig National High School responded to
this matter.
On November 23, 2018 the work immersion teacher/facilitator hand in the
Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to the Medical Chief of Lingig Community
Hospital, Dr. Ina Isabel B. Plaza for signing and approval of the said activity. She
happily signed, approved and hopeful that the students will learn something from
them.
The STEM 12 students arrived early on November 26, 2018 as their first day
of duty. Dr. Plaza and the Head Nurse Rosario B. Pastera welcome them and have
their orientation right away. After the orientation, they where toured around the
hospital and introduced them to the different department heads where they will be
assigned for that day and the following days. Abner C. Badang Jr. was the first to
assign in the office of the Chief of Hospital headed by Dr. Plaza, Alexander M.
Platino in the Pharmacy headed by Merry P. Limpanog, Marvin Porol in the
Laboratory headed by Carlo P. Lindo, Crysha M. Corteza in Deitary department
headed by Rose Marie N. Pahit and Rotchelle C. Hayag was assigned in the
information desk area. Every two days they will change their assigned area,
therefore in ten consecutive days they will experience all the department areas.
On December 07, 2018 at three o’clock in the afternoon, they ended up their
immersion duties. Right after that, they make a short culmination activity program.
2. The program was opened by a prayer by Rotchelle B. Hayag followed by welcome
address of Dr. Ina Isabel B. Plaza, acknowledgement of participants by Abner C.
Badang Jr., a message by Alan S. Tiongson the SHS Assistant Principal Designate,
and impression by Marvin C. Porol. The program will not be complete without the
giving of Certificates to the stakeholder partner and to the immersion participants. All
the department heads were able to receive it and the students as well. The short
activity was closed by a closing prayer by Alexander M. Platino and the program was
emceed by Crysha M. Corteza.
The trainee highly appreciates and deeply acknowledge the effort of Lingig
National High School Personnel and the Lingig Community Hospital for selflessly
allowing and sharing their valuable time and attention in making their immersion
duty a remarkable experience and a successful as well.
