3. Advantages Free to register and use. No need to reveal your personal information. You can meet many people easily. Meet the one you love if you invest quality time in knowing the person. Questions can get instant reply. Can save time and money.
4. Disadvantages Can’t control who access the chat room. Too many people talking at the same time. Most of the time you don’t know the people in the chats. Can be distracting. Chat room discussions may become sexual or violent sometimes.
5. What’s IM? Short for instant message, a type of communication that enables you to create a kind of private chat room with another individual in order to communicate in real time over the Internet, using text-based communication. Typically, the IM system alerts you whenever somebody on your private list is online. You can then initiate a chat session with that particular individual.

A chat is a casual conversation. Real-time communication between two users via computer. Once a chat has been initiated, either user can enter text by typing on the keyboard and the entered text will appear on the other user's monitor.
