The IfM is a division of the University of Cambridge's Department of Engineering that brings together experts in management, economics, policy, and technology to address manufacturing issues. It has over 70 researchers and 100 PhD students working across 14 research groups. The IfM conducts research in management, technology, and policy areas to advance economic opportunity, productivity, and sustainability in manufacturing. 10. New appointments
• Professor Andy Neely has been
appointed as the University of
Cambridge’s new Pro-Vice-Chancellor
for Enterprise and Business Relations.
• Dr Tim Minshall has been appointed as
Deputy Head of the IfM.
• Dr Mohamed Zaki has been appointed
Deputy Director of the Cambridge
Service Alliance (CSA).

11. New people
Nick Hazell joined IfM ECS as a Senior
Industrial Fellow. A MET alumnus, Nick has
held senior R&D roles in a number of global
food companies including Mars and PepsiCo.
Dr Alexandra Brintrup has been appointed
to the new post of University Lecturer in
Digital Manufacturing. Alexandra’s research
interest is in developing data analytics and
intelligent systems for manufacturing and
supply chains.

• Policy Links is the (not-for-profit) knowledge
transfer unit of the IfM’s Centre for Science,
Technology & Innovation Policy
• Funded by Gatsby Charitable Foundation
