  • Exterminated anything urban or Western:
    money, medicine, books, people wearing glasses
Life in Cambodia today
• 14 million people

• 80% live in rural areas

• 50% under age 21

• 25% earn under $1/day

• 50% of children
  “economically active”
OUR SCHOOLS
• In the long run, no investment in poor
  countries gets more bang for the buck than
  educating girls.

• Literate girls have fewer children, care for
  their children better, and are much better able
  to earn a decent living.
