IED Huron
Mission and Objective
 Our mission is to create a stable business to fund all the expenses of
Huron’s engineering program. We plan engrave patterns on any
items of a customer ranging from phones to jewelry. We want to
expose as many students as possible to what we offer in order to
generate the most revenue possible from our customers.
 To successfully meet the needs of our customers by
creating the best engraved products possible.
 To establish a stable income to fund our entire
engineering program.
Background
• First year program currently has 100 students with a 200 students
waitlist.
• Class offers pre-college engineering experience that will result in
better engineers
•First year class teaches problem solving skills, design protocol, and the
basics of Computer Aided Drafting
•Many engineering-related extra curricular clubs (ex: VEX Robotics and
Nanoline) formed to help students gain more experience.
•This engineering class is meant to generate additional interest in the
engineering field and create very well-prepared future engineers.
Plan with funding
 Current funding will only sustain the engineering program for 3 more
years
 After 3 years, the program will rely on the school district but they can
refuse to fund the program.
 Donated money will go towards buying the laser engraver
 With the engraver business, a steady income can be produced to
support the engineering program.
 The money will go towards advancing Huron's engineering
buying equipment, software, etc
 An improved engineering program will create a better educational
experience and attract new students to be part of the program.
How will this benefit you?
 70% of PLTW students major in STEM fields in college and are twice as
likely to graduate with an engineering degree than non-PLTW
students.
 This program gives students better exposure to the engineering field
and an edge.
 Your company’s name will be associated with the business on
posters, flyers, etc. which is additional positive advertising
 Engineering students from Huron will develop a positive connotation
associated with your company because you helped facilitate their
engineering learning experience.
 This will increase likelihood of Huron engineering students wanting to
work for you.
