The ICCROM-Sharjah regional office was established in Sharjah, UAE. In 2018-2019, it conducted capacity building activities in 8 countries that served ICCROM members in the Middle East and North Africa. These activities included training courses, workshops, and conferences focused on conservation, risk management, community engagement, and advocacy. Notable projects included the restoration of historic sites in Oman and the UAE, as well as establishing community museums in Sudan.
